I've just seen this Guardian piece by Gary Younge on how the mood has changed amongst democrat voters in Colorado. I'd like to ask members of this board a couple of questions, why has the mood changed so much amongst Democrat voters in the US, indeed has it changed in the way the report has suggested? Also, if the Democrat party actually wanted to get that enthusiasm and dedication back, what would they have to do? EDIT: Sorry mods, should have posted in politics and gov't, feel free to punt.

I was included in a recent poll: "What can be done to combat ignorance and apathy?" I said I don't know and I don't care.

The Dermocrats need 1. grow a fucking spine, 2. move to the left, act like a opposition party and NOT like Republican lite, 3. The top assholes in the party need to stop calling the liberal base "fucking retards" and saying that "we are on drugs" because we criticize them for selling us out on certain things.

I'm not voting for the Democrats in November. I'm voting against the Republicans.

Obama attracted a lot of young people who don't know shit about politics and expected sweeping change to occur immediately. Obviously, this didn't happen (nor is it possible). As such, they are disappointed. After this, then I'd say it's for the reasons others mentioned.
