Stormfront Endorses Ron Paul

Texas Rep. Ron Paul (R) received an unwanted endorsement on Tuesday when Don Black, the founder of the white nationalist group Stormfront, told The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur that he supported Paul’s presidential candidacy.

Maybe this'll get Paul to renounce some of his racism? (not all... We can't hope for that, he's too old and set in his ways)

Bah let's not play guilt by association. Ron Paul has disavowed everything they stand for.

For me, Ron Paul is the only Republican nominee I could ever vote for. If anybody else gets the nomination, Barack Obama automatically has my vote. If he wins though, I will actually be unsure who to vote for until after the debates.

You're right, Ron Paul isn't racist, he's just uncomfortable around black and hispanic people (link). That's totally not the same thing.

It doesn't say that at all. It says he has nothing against those people but had (in the 1980s) very little knowledge of their cultures. The examples given in regards to gay people are awful, but then again this was the 1980s when AIDS was rampant. Are you saying that people have no capacity to change?

Rand Paul has openly stated that he disagrees with the Civil Rights Act in regards to "forcing" businesses to deal with equality and would like to see it repealed. Why should his father be any better?

80s? This guy worked for Paul until 2003. It is possible Paul has changed, but in light of evidence to the contrary, I'm not going to believe it. Now, if you have evidence to say Ron Paul has been enlightened, please present it.

This pretty much sums up the issue of Ron Paul and racism:

It's even better, he's a lying bastard because back in the 90s he defe nded the newsletters. Now, you could argue he's no longer defending them because he no longer holds those views, but he could very easily run as a reformed racist. With something as simple as that, his racist past is gone. But he's not doing that. So what options are left?

-He's still racist, but realizes the statements are politically embarrassing.
-He no longer racist, but is instead lying about his past.
-He believes he is no longer racist and is less racist than he used to be, but still prefers whites over 'the darkies.'

None of the options I see are exactly flattering, but feel free to add your own interpretation.

You know, the main thing I got from this endorsement isn't that Paul is a racist (he may be, I've never met the guy, don't know) but that his views are considerably nearer these conspiracy nuts than other candidates.
