I'm glad that Senator Murray's office is helping him out. I voted for her, and something I like is actually happening!
Seriously, I'm pretty sure this guy should just be given citizenship. His term of residency and particularly his participating in the armed forces during what is probably the central conflict of American history to this point should qualify him more or less out of hand.

Well, I think this is one situation where conservatives and liberals can band together and say, "He fought for this country during the war, he should be granted citizenship for that and that alone."

He should be granted citizenship even if it's a dying wish. He fought for this country. That should be auto-citizenship as far as I'm concerned.

But then we might have anchor-veterans! That could mean brown people!

He was born here. They don't need to grant him anything, just acknowledge that his is a citizen!

Give him his citizenship, dammit! Even if he hadn't fought in WWII, I'd think he'd deserve to be recognized for his being in the US workforce and, you know, having American parents.
And he's 95 fucking years old! I mean, damn! 95 and apparently still capable of tending to himself, even wanting to drive himself on a road trip? Come ON, this is hardly a case of "THEYR TAKIN R JOBS", even if that WAS a legitimate argument to begin with.

Actually, I might like to add that having glanced through the comments, just about EVERYONE is supportive of him getting citizenship. Granted, a lot of them are taking potshots at "yeah, we're allowing illegals to get citizenships, but not this guy!?" but eh.

I think normally he'd have dual citizenship, but since neither country has a record of him as a citizen he's got nothing.

Apparently, his parents didn't have birth certificates, either. Well, he's 95 years old. If you consider his parents to have been 20 years old at the time of his birth, they would have been in 1896. I don't think they kept birth certificates back then, since births and deaths would have been marked down in the family's records, not in the government's.

He was born here. They don't need to grant him anything, just acknowledge that his is a citizen! Yah. The only thing worse than a government 'pardon' of an innocent person is, you know, not pardoning them. Pardons imply that the government still thinks they're guilty.
