Ok... this is insaneGuess what? He's a husband and a FATHER. And this is in a comment where he's arguing that god exists because of "absolute morality"! Good is being defined as god's nature. Huh???

He does have a point about the original sin and all. This is why some sects baptize babies. Of course, he fails in thinking this will somehow convince people to worship such a deity. And they worry about "killing" babies in abortions.

And once again, the fundie blood god fails to meet his own moral standards. Tell my why he's supposed to be the good guy?

What about aborted "babies?"
Since they haven't been born yet, do they go to hell too?

Probably... Well, I did reply to that guy, for all the good it's going to do, as for "original sin" it's not like the babies even had a chance to commit any "sins" in the first place:

The worst thing about this was when he said "I could care less".

And they worry about "killing" babies in abortions. The problem with original sin, apart from the repugnance in forcing people to suffer for their ancestors' misdeeds, is that the Adam and Eve story blatantly states that they lacked any understanding of good & evil, therefore releasing them of any culpability for their "crime". Even if they could justify the "sins of the father" doctrine, their god would still be a complete monster. And that's not even getting into the issue of the biblical god's stated ability to predict the future, meaning he would have known that all of this was going to happen when he first created humanity, or the absurdity in creating the tree of knowledge & a manipulative talking snake. By their own theology, it's the fundie blood god that deserves to rot in hell, not humanity.

Indeed being omniscient and omnipotent he is the one responsible for the sin of eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil for which he punishes not only Adam and Eve but all of their descendants and then kills his own son in order to forgive them.
Well excuse me if I prefer my deity not to be crackhead.

Divine Command Theorem, lovely. Good because he says so, not because it's intrinsically good.
Yeah, no. Nobody sane of mind believes in DCM. Complete lack of critical thinking. I'm so glad my parents never took me to church and thereby let me figure out my own standard of faith. I'm able to retain spirituality without succumbing to dogma.
Edit: Although I'd gladly succumb to watching Dogma again - that movie kicks ass.

Well, obviously if God is sending a baby to Hell, the little sinner deserves it!

Ya know, I'm not the most observant fellow out there, but I'm pretty sure I've never crawled into some fat guy named Adam when I wanted to bang my girlfriend.

I always wondered why God waited until Adam was lonely to make Eve. Surely an all knowing God would have known Adam was going to be lonely, and could have made Eve at the same time?

2. God killed the Canaanites after over 400 years of patience against their bestiality, child sacrifice, homosexuality, ritual orgies, and false religion that led to the above practices. Wasn't God aka Gudan aka YHWH aka El originally a Canaanite god? False religion, huh? Thanks for that clarification.

But supposing the babies were evil babies - drug dealing, gun running, operating a protection racket, running numbers, heavily into prostitution (including baby prostitutes **shudder**) - with tattoos, wearing leather diapers and gang colours - you know the sort...
