Are there any good sources that can help me refute a Climategate arugment? The person I'm debating sent me this article. I'd like to be able to refute it.

People that cite the daily mail as a real source deserve to be beaten with a stick named "Sense."

Thanks. Although the person I'm debating doesn't seem to listen to any evidence contrary to his/her belief. I think I'm just wasting my time debating him/her. I can post the argument thread if you guys are interested.

You know what else is fun? Ocean acidification (also, the graph showing there to be no change in temperature is totally a lie). Marine chemist Richard Feely, a senior scientist with the National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration, has been collecting water samples in the North Pacific for over 30 years. He’s observed a decrease in pH at the upper part of the water column, notably the region where carbon dioxide from automobile exhaust, coal-fired power plants, and other human activities has collected. This surface water is now acidic enough to dissolve the shells of some marine animals such as corals, plankton, and mollusks in laboratory experiments. Feely’s findings are just one sign of a troubling global phenomenon called ocean acidification. scienceprogress.org/2011/09/ocean-acidification-beyond-the-carbon-debate/

Don't forget that trying to refute points is counterproductive and just reinforces the false idea (link)

Funny this topic should be mentioned. Carl Sagan's book Billions & Billions has multiple chapters devoted to the topic. It's about 12 years old now but the information is still sound. Somewhat related to Vene's stuff: Climate Change skeptic changes his tune.

Sure, its always fun for shits-N-giggles Okay. Wow, all shit and no giggles. Basically the person is saying "It disagrees with my position, therefore I refuse to acknowledge this".

Wow, all shit and no giggles. Basically the person is saying "It disagrees with my position, therefore I refuse to acknowledge this". Which is pretty much why I stopped debating him/her. Why waste time debating with someone who won't listen to your counterarguments?

I wonder what that person thinks about other areas of science. Should Creationists be taken as an authority on evolution? Should we be turning to Quantum Mystics for information on physics?

I don't really have anything to contribute to this discussion, but I'd just like to make it known how much I despise the use of "-gate" as a suffix.
