features.peta.org/mario-kills-tanooki/1. Tanukis are not real. They are fictional. PETA is stupid. Save the unicorns. 2. A Tanuki has enormous testicles. The one in the Mario games is not a Tanuki by definition.

That being said, I agree with you about the stupidity of the PETA game.

The one in the Mario games is not a Tanuki by definition. 1. Tanuki are real, a quick google search would have shown you this. 2. A tanuki in artwork often has enormous testicles, however, tanuki have been depicted with more realistic genitals, and it would be downright retarded to have massive testicles in a mario game.

Imagine the heads on the silly bastards when they see what he does to those poor turtles.

In the context of art, which is what is represented in the sprites of a game set in a fantasy world, the mythical Tanuki is being portrayed. That PETA game is an insult to my gamer aesthetics.

I'm just amazed it took them this long to know about this. The Tanooki Suit came from a game released in 1990.

Did Mario kill one of the Hammer Brothers to get his Hammer Brother suit? Did he kill a frog to get his Frog Suit? No, he's shapeshifting. And since it's understood that Tanukis shapeshift it's not farfetched for Mario to shapeshift into a Tanuki in a fantasy world.

Yeah, but PETA know their market. Cute Furry animals are their gateway drug. It's only later they can get folks to give a shit about the scaly, slimy ones. Tanuki is an easier sell than frog.
See Also: Sea Kittens. PETA's campaigns are predicated on an audience of shallow idiots.

Worst part is, the flash game isn't even fun.

Skin humans alive and call it even. Do the naked women in their campaigns count?

Oh fuck right off PETA, you're descending to the WBC's level.

Oh fuck right off PETA, you're descending to the WBC's level. I'd like to know how many people still have an NES with a Super Mario Bros 3 cartridge. I guess playing the ROM on an emulator which is technically illegal makes it blatant animal cruelty propaganda.

You'd think if anything, they'd complain about all the turtles Mario kills, but I guess not~
