I would not have an issue with this. It'd make watching Walking Dead nicer.

I'd prefer having a long block of ads running between separate programs rather than what we have now, but I doubt TV networks and advertisers would go for it. Viewers are more likely to sit through ads that take place during shows.

So, what do you think? I understand the ad-based system that we have in the West, but I can't help feeling envious of Chinese viewers. Really? I mean, the Chinese government is not even trying to hide the fact that they're doing this in order to tighten their grip on television networks. I'll gladly choose half an hour of ads in my crappy profit-centric lowest-denominator 40-minute programming over whatever the oligarchs deem "scientific and healthy", thank you. By the way, all this talk about "scientific" programming is an affront to science of Orwellian proportions. They're not really thinking about physics or biology there. The implications are obvious : in China, science is whatever the Party decides to be true.

Take some of the ads out of the middle of the show, that would make me happy. I don't mind the interruption--I have to go to the bathroom at some point anyway--but FIVE TIMES in an allegedly hour-long show is ridiculous.

Yeah, no. I'd rather have free media with ads than government-dependent media with no ads, thanks.

I don't like the idea of having commercials so long that I have to get up & play the vidya or something between each show.

I don't mind commercials so much during shows, I just don't like them during movies.

That would kind of be nice. I hate mapping out my snack plans like a damn track race.
