SOMEONE CALLED FOR ME =D -found this board by accident- My name is a portmanteau of Itachi and Girumon Today I learned....how to operate an iPad and that John Barrowman was from Glasgow (it's a slow day, humor me u.u)

Today I learned that the government is stupid. Isn't that something one learns every day? Today I learned that leaving a previously-opened-and-swigged-from bottle of cranberry drink in a very hot room results in a slightly sparkling, sweet wine. And I cannot tolerate alcohol so I gave it to the son who likes fruity ciders. He approved.

My thoughts on that, in succession:
"That's both worrying and somehow adorable"
"Wow, someone has been watching too many Mafia movies"
"What kind of parent thinks the right way to deal with their child showing sociopathic tendencies is to call the news?"
"Mum plans to get her all she asked for? The phrase '...then the terrorists win' seems strangely appropriate now"
"Wait, 13 years old? What are the odds this is just a joke on her part or a prank she was playing on her mother (who, based on her comments so far, appears to deserve it)?"
My thoughts now are mostly on whether the mother is a victim or an accomplice of the joke.

Today I learned I have central heterochromia iridum. Basically it means I have two colors in the same iris, but the central ring around the pupil is a different color than the rest of the eye. They are green but the centers are light brown.

Other types of heterochromia are associated with some genetic disorders.

This was published: As far as humans are concerned, you may think you know all about sexual signals, but you’d be surprised by new findings. It’s been known since the 1990s that heterosexual women living together synchronize their menstrual cycles because of pheromones, but when a study of lesbians showed that they do not synchronize, the researchers suspected that semen played a role. In fact, they found ingredients in semen that include mood enhancers like estrone, cortisol, prolactin, oxytocin, and serotonin; a sleep enhancer, melatonin; and of course, sperm, which makes up only 1%-5%. Delivering these compounds into the richly vascularized vagina also turns out to have major salutary effects for the recipient. Female college students having unprotected sex were significantly less depressed than were those whose partners used condoms (Arch. Sex. Behav. 2002;31:289-93). Their better moods were not just a feature of promiscuity, because women using condoms were just as depressed as those practicing total abstinence. The benefits of semen contact also were seen in fewer suicide attempts and better performance on cognition tests. retractionwatch.wordpress.com/2011/04/06/forget-chocolate-on-valentines-day-try-semen-says-surgery-news-editor-retraction-resignation-follow/It has since been retracted and the author has resigned his position. Because, seriously, what the fuck is this shit.

Today I learned that people are very capable of doing the thing they accuse you of doing.
I am an admin on a site and I got accused of power tripping without any evidence (and multiple people who know I don't do that). We have a chatbox on the site. What does the other admin do because he's in a bad mood? Bans me from the chatbox.
Why me? Who knows. All I did was make sure people used their correct names in the cbox and didn't troll in the fake 'sockpuppet' name. I also had made mention of Bob Anderson dying and then the other admin roars in and bans me for no reason other than being grouchy.

Fremdschämen is a German word for being embarrassed for somebody else, I think I shall steal it.
