There are a lot of people with a lot to say in the comments, and from time to time on the forums, but is anyone interested in a page explicitly for posting opinion pieces on various subjects?
This has been brought up a few times as the old site had a rather flakey 'weekly' section which featured such articles. I could setup the pages to do it pretty quickly, if people are actually interested in it I will. So, let me know if you are. I'd rather not blow a day only to have two articles ever come in.

I'd be willing to give it go from time to time on topical subjects. I'm annoyed at the amount of misinformation out there and the cursory treatment most subjects get in the news media. Since I am constantly having to do my own research on subjects anyway I might as well try to share what I find.
Question, do I have to keep my language entirely sanitized?

I'd contribute. I had a number of columns appear in the old Weekly section until it sport of fell apart. I was also a regular contributor to godlessbastard.com. Fifty years as advertising and PR copywriter, trade press editor. How would one go about submitting candidate columns?

I would also, contribute. I love to write and would love to have a place to share that with others. Question though: Can we post spoof articles if we establish beyond a doubt that it is a spoof?

If you have an article in mind to post, or are willing to put one together on the (rather good, but not in the next week or two) chance I'm going to put the system together, email the article FSTDT@fstdt.net for now.
I'll look them over and file them for right now, and use them to smack myself up side the head and get the code to handle it done.
But as to article types, if you have a good spoof I'd certainly consider it. I could probably set up some categories once I read over a few of them.

I'd love to submit something for consideration. I've posted a couple of things on the forum that might have been more appropriate as articles.

I know recycling old things is generally considered taboo, but would you consider my piece on men = Genghis I wrote a while back? I seem to remember you enjoyed it, and if we do add an op ed section (or just a 'random rants' section) I'll probably be a frequent contributor, and I like to introduce myself in a literary sense with one or two old pieces before moving on to new stuff. Not sure why, but it's my thing. If you don't remember it, I'll email it to you.

I'll contribute, not that anyone really wants to read anything I wrote. Actually, I have written several essays on different topics that were not for school- I just wrote them for the heck of it. If anyone would be interested I'd be willing to type them up.

I might be in, but I'd only be very occasional at best. What kind of length piece are we talking?

We can help out if you give us some topics. Particularly if you need a medical view of some sort.

I might be in, but I'd only be very occasional at best. Same here. Can't promise anything definite, really, but I'd be interested in reading, and I'd write if ever inspired to it.

Alright, repeated content?
Sure, and I'll tack on a link to the post's original location. Probably won't exactly be a featured update if you've posted before, but I see no real issue so long as it's your material.
Length limitations...
You can probably guess I haven't thought this out that much, but here's a quick spin.
Roughly a 500 word minimum(believe that's a page page and a half) and if we can keep it under 2500 I'll actually have time to read them over in a timely fashion. But these are me pulling numbers out of the air(and wolframAlpha, which oddly actually produced something useful), so ignore as needed if it's to constraining.

I might be able to contribute occasionally, but my grammar, spelling and wording are occasionally horrible. I am not a native speaker and it shows.

I haven't gone on a giant rant for a while, but then again I don't know if anyone would be interested in anything I had to say.
It's the ultimate conceit of the writer: am I just bullshitting myself that I'm relevant?
