Alright, I've been learning a lot about newer versions of the framework I use and I'm finding a lot of it could be really useful if used correctly.
What this means is I'm probably going to wind up re-writing a good portion of the pages before all to long.
Good news is the assend code that took me ages the first time is all reuseable, so it shouldn't take me all that long. Bad news is I have remarkably little motivation other than just seeing if I could do it.
Now, what I'm considering doing is getting a set of new features to code along with this and then start up a project around these which I can run with.
I have one off the top of my head: Link commentary to user accounts to avoid sock puppetry.
I am going to fix the RSS, probably as soon as I post this actually as I've finally remembered how I fixed the issue I have right now before, but anything else is fair game even if you've mentioned it before, because being me I've managed to lose the vast majority of my notes or time has rendered the chicken scratch illegible.

After you post return you to the new post rather than the 1st page, break the refresh=repost cycle that causes so many of the reposts on the page.

Where is Public Admin hiding? FSTDT.com had a "Public Admin" link right on the main page. So where is it on the new site? Or do I vote from the old one?
This has been confusing me for months, and I've been too embarrassed to say anything until now. It's like using Office 2007 after you've gotten used to the menu system from earlier versions. You don't know where a feature is on the new system, and you're afraid to ask because everyone else seems to "just know" and you're afraid it'll make you look stupid.

You have to log in (using your old login for public admin) for it to show up.
The delete button I'm iffy on, I prefer leaving evidence that someone did something stupid, same reason edit rights expire after 3 days(aside from the occasional possibility of someone else from the same IP getting a hold of your comments).
The returning to your post bit is actually rather difficult as I've been trying to minimize the number of database calls involved, I'll see about adding more of a reaction to the controls themselves when you post.

A delete button for your posts. AC, did you mean so that we could delete Distind's posts, or so that we could go back and delete our own posts if we say something completely out of line? I mean, either way, I agree, we should be able to delete our own posts as well as Distind's

It's right on the main page, login, should be under the submit a quote link.
Of this site.

Apparently the main login isn't working. I was logged in before, and the homepage had nothing between "Submit Quote" and "Logout." I thought it might be a glitch, or I'd logged in under my new account. So I decided to logout, then log back in--and apparently I don't remember my old password. *sigh* I really hate to keep bothering you about this. I tried every variation of my usual passwords I could think of.
Man, I am just digging a deeper hole for myself every time I mention Public Admin, huh?

Not really, that just means you don't have rights for it. But I'll check out your password tonight, PM me another and I'll clear it up.
Back before the 'shitshitshit' scramble to get the site up I had a host of ideas for member related functionality to make it worth signing in rather than just public admin. Some of it's at work behind the scenes, but none of it is completed yet.

Renaming of CSTDT to "Conspiracy Theorists and Wingnuts say the Darndest Things"? There's a lot of crazy stuff coming from the right these days, the left has its share of crazies as well, and there are some libertarians whose rantings are always good for a laugh. Expanding the scope of CSTDT seems preferable to simply tacking on categories.

How about the much overdue Misogynists say the darndest things? Well, if we went this route I'd suggest Mis[ogyn|andr]ists say the darndest things. While I can only think of seeing one misandrist quote since I've been here, I'd say it's only fair to have a category for both. Then again, why not combine this with a '[GLBT[-phobes say the darndest things'? It all comes down to sex, gender, and what someone thinks you can, cannot, should or should not do with any given combination, doesn't it?

Why not just "Sexists say the Darndest Things?" (do question marks go INSIDE or OUTSIDE?) that would cover both genders nicely.
