I am with Freydis. We need something to the effect of Sexists say the darnedest things or Misogynists say the darnedest things. There is a lot more of that going around these days.

Friend of mine on another forum has long been suggesting a Nationalists Say The Darndest Things. He's involved with some debacle on Wikipedia with Greek nationalists, and surely there's other examples online, too.

Remove the little part of PubAd that shows the current votes on a quote. I can't think of any benefit that's gained from having it up there.

It's been a while since I last did any PubAd, but a noticeable number of negative votes can usually clue you in that there's something wrong with the quote that you missed. Not sure if that's a significant enough advantage to keep, though.

Not sure if that's a significant enough advantage to keep, though. I'd say it's not, since that's exactly the kind of bias I want to get rid of. If there are a significant number of no votes, it'll probably be deleted regardless, and if by "something wrong" you mean that it breaks one of the rules, that's what we have the Mainpage Violations thread for.

I have done a very stupid thing. And I just now read that Distind LIKES to keep evidence of us doing stupid things. What I did was post a quote from Rapture Ready. And then I had a brain-wave. They have been all coy about visits from our board. So I thought 'More than just adding the link, I'll add the board/section/topic/thread directions to make the quote easy to verify, and for the lulz-worthy rest of the thread to be seen.' So I inserted that. Not just after the quote as I intended, but bang in the middle of it. I'm embarrassed. The feature I'd LIKE to have is to be able to delete my submitted quote. Please, please, please pretty please?
Oh dear- yet more folly from me for Distind to like. I hadn't seen that if I didn't press the 'submit quote' button, all record of my mistake would be erased.
Tell me- was my brainwave of quoting [rapture ready/end times events/breaking news and world events/world's oldest human-linked skeleton found] after the quote useful to moderators and readers, or does it fall under the ban on comments in the quotes?

I'm not that cruel, pm me the details and I'll flush it.

*Blush* I'm so totally n00b I don't know how to PM you, Distind. Can I ask you to PM me, and tell me how?
On the up-side, I closed the tab without confirming the submission, so hopefully it doesn't need flushing. ~ John_in_Oz

What about a search feature that allows people to search for the person who submitted a quote?

Not really a new feature, but maybe sprucing up the site a little? It looks kind of bland; maybe making everything look a little brighter?
Not that I hate the current design or think that changing it is important, but it could be something to do.
Perhaps a Chatango chatbox as well?

Future Forum Feature Request:
If a poster makes two posts in a row in a thread append the second to the first. This would drastically cut down on double posting (especially if the page redirects so a refresh doesn't duplicate the post) and increase readability, as it would be more obvious that it's the same person talking (as people can easily get a little lazy on paying attention to the user info).

A few months ago I e-mailed destind a new web design setup, he told me he liked the design but said he was gonna tweak the color scheme and haven't heard anything else on it from him since..and this is probably 4-5 months ago now.

Egh, what can I say, I've spent most of the time I dedicate to the site tracking down spam and finding better ways of eliminating it.
I do like the basic design you sent, the rather circular main menu bit particularly if I remember correctly, but swearing at CSS is less rewarding than stomping on spammers.
Though I am looking at a couple of different colors to change the site to, I'm rather attached to the current color as it's a bit of a bad joke. #666 being the color code.

Ya, funny idea...I thought about it but at the same time I thought you would of thought it as a bit cheezy. As far as spam goes why not expand your crew of cronies..err Mods (just kidding guys no hard feelings) and do a common website setup of if its spam red flag it, the comment gets temp removed until one of the designated mods review to see if it would fall as true spam or borderline etc. If abuse is noticed..have a ip capture sent in as the identifier of who red flagged the post. Something along those lines. Example as what I mean as far as sending the IP address with the compaint - www.javascriptkit.com/script/script2/displayip.shtmledit - also ment to add, of course easier said than done, but just throwing out ideas.

Formally requesting that mods provide a detailed explanation when locking people's threads.
