I ignore most Scripture quoted at me. I just remember seeing them before.
If you really care that much, just go to a Bible verse searcher & type in words like "serpent" & "snake."
One MIGHT have, in the KJV, I don't really know for certain.
Okay, you're not suggesting to me anything I haven't already thought of. I said it was ambiguous in meaning. Didn't you catch that?
I did not "jump in to correct you," I pointed out that it's the generally accepted meaning, & there is nothing that directly says that they AREN'T, either.
You can do it with most single versions, too.
When read with an unbiased eye, very little in the Bible makes sense.

zach -- "irregardless" is not a word, and in fact is the exact opposite of what you're trying to convey. The proper word is "regardless". </nitpick>
The reason the Serpent was "evil", and this is just my best guess, is that in a desert region most snakes are highly venomous, and the bronze-age folks associated these deadly snakes with their evil deity.
In most other cultures, snakes (and, incidentally, the apple) were revered as a symbol of wisdom.

You just have to look at their death tolls to confirm who's more evil.

Is that graph accurate, or a hyperbole/estimation thingy?

probably a bit of both.

...That doesn't make any sense. Either all the deaths that are attributed to God in the Bible can be calculated & match that number, or it's a rough estimation &, therefore, probably a hyperbole.

Well, we don't know how many people there were in the cities that the Israelites stormed and killed in under their god. And we don't know how many people were in Sodom and Gommorah. So, it's really hard to come up with an exact number of any kind.

Having computer difficulties here, so pardon me if I'm repeating, but has anyone pointed out that "Satan" isn't a name? It's Hebrew for "enemy". The actual demon name is Lucifer, which if you think about it makes a whole lot of things even more hilarious.

There are a lot of names given credit for being Satan. Lucifer, Samael, Asmodeus, et al.
