I know we have a few pet owners here. If you love em like I do, post their pics here, talk about em here! I've had 3 pets in my life: Penny - Lab mix. (Girl) 1992-2002. My first pet, she was an amazing dog. She was the only female, and the only non-black puppy in the litter. The guy was gonna drown them in a sack if he didn't find a home for them all. I have no idea if any of her siblings found a home :<. Unfortunately, no pic available at the moment. My scanner is broken and I only have polaroids. Simba - Cat. (Girl. Yeh I know Simba is a boy name, I was a kid when I named her T_T) 1995-2008. We saved her from a neglectful home when she was about 2 months old. She was infested with fleas. And if you think her fur looks really soft, you're right. She was soft like a rabbit! Cocoa - Cat. (Boy) 2003-present. Memorial Day 2003 was a cold and rainy day. Our neighbor knocked on our door some time in the mid afternoon and told us he saw someone throw something from a moving car into our driveway, and he heard crying. It was a black kitten. I went outside and there he was, on his back, twisted, soaked, crying his eyes out. My psycho uncle wanted to go get his gun and put it out of its misery. My mom rushed him to the vet before he had a chance to. A few days later, he was given the green light to go home. And that home was with us . Here's the two of them together. They fought like hell, but they liked each other in small doses. Proof: I has it.

Simba - Cat. (Girl. Yeh I know Simba is a boy name, I was a kid when I named her T_T) I'll post pictures some other time, but I wanted to share a story like that. When we moved to this house in the mountains, due to a chain of events we ended up with two kittens who were very young. Eyes still closed young. They were a tortoiseshell girl (duh) and a yellow tabby boy. I was probably nineish at the time. I named the boy Venus and the girl Mars. My mom kept telling me I had mixed up the sexes, and I repeatedly informed her that the surface of Mars is reddish with dark areas, and that the clouds of Venus make the planet a very light striped yellow. Yeah, I was a nerdy kid who named my cats after the planets they resembled in terms of color.

Puppy! His name's Rylie, he's about a year old and he's my sister's. I <3 him even if he annoys the shit out of me sometimes. He's also probably the nicest dog you will ever meet - he loves everyone and everything.

My first dog I got a few days before second grade started, my dad had always promised me a dog when we moved into a house with a fenced in yard. The day we moved in I screamed and cried until they took me to pick up my dog. She was the most expensive puppy at the kennel, I didn't know that and though my parents really couldn't afford her they knew they had to get her because of the way we had bonded so quickly. Her name was Echo and she was a German Shepherd. Here she is about ten modeling to help my dad test a new background. She died about three years ago My current dog is called Roxy and she is also a pureblood German Shepherd, although she doesn't look it. My dad didn't want one with white markings, but my sister and I wore him down. My boyfriend is the only one capable of carrying her around and she loves it.

I FRICKEN LOVE GERMAN SHEPHERDS! I've always wanted one. I'm jealous of you. JEALOUS!
Really though, they're both beautiful. I know it sucks to lose a dog :< especially when you literally grew up with one. I still cry if I think about the day we had to have Penny euthanized.

I know it sucks to lose a dog :< especially when you literally grew up with one. I still cry if I think about the day we had to have Penny euthanized. I cry thinking about it too, although its a comfort knowing that she stopped being in pain after that. Its more heartbreaking thinking about the first time I "knew" that she wouldn't live much longer. Echo and Roxy are night and day though, its rather funny. Echo was petite and dainty whereas Roxy is large and clumsy; Echo would get freaked out by other dogs and bark until she was hoarse and Roxy thinks that everyone loves her (I used to take her to the dog park and watch as she was beaten up by other dogs for being socially incompetent but she loved every minute of it); Echo was clever, Roxy has two brain cells; etc. But I have always wanted a lap dog, Roxy crushes me when she sits on my lap.

So funny that you would start a pet thread today, when I just adopted a new kitten... today! She's a beautiful calico. We named her Vespa. I'll post pictures when I get around to uploading them. I also have a male silver tabby named Pippin. He's well practiced at being cute.

i have had a few pets in my life, my first was Teddy my dashound he was poisoned last year he was 15 but still going strong, no photos of him on this computer. Next we have my cats. druid- big, loving, and a bit thick. Lucinda- tiny, evil and probably plotting something at this very moment, Sorry for the photo quality she hates having them taken, and yes she is a kittler. Relic- she had to be put to sleep about a year ago, i am still heart broken about it. And Sookie Soot Soot, he was meant to be called Sirius Black but something happened, and well... look at him: New tiles going down! Yay. Druid is taunting him in the corner there. Roxy is gorgeous, i have a soft spot for sheperds they are great. Every one has such awesome pets.

Son of a bitch...I got a lot to list, and no pictures!
Here we go:
Dupre: Middle-aged Doberman. Dumber than a sack of hammers. Carly: Younger black Lab. Smart and somewhat energetic.
Dually: AKA: Big Truck; AKA: My Boy; AKA: My Son. Orange/White male. Saved him as a kitten a few years back. It was winter and his mother had, unfortunately, died. I found him in the middle of our driveway huddled and cold, so I took him inside, wrapped him in a towel, and kept him in my bed and by my side for the rest of the night.
Kohl: AKA: Big Blue; AKA: The Pimp. Male Russian blue. One of the three cats of our momma cat's first litter. He's talkative, knows his own name, and is currently running around like an idiot.
Duncan: AKA: Ghost Turd; AKA: Cracker; AKA: The Evil One. Male, white. Kohl's brother. He is goofy as crap, and extremely intelligent. Also capable of jumping onto a person's shoulders with minimal injury (which he delights in doing at the most inopportune moments). Has a shoe fetish.
Big Tom: AKA: Biggs. White/Orange male. Used to be an outdoor cat until we moved, when he came with us. He's now a big, lovy, indoor tom cat. Named "Big Tom" because of his extreme muscle mass.
Lewis: AKA: The Weebs. Black Male. Named after Lewis Black. Used to belong to my cousin until he moved into an apartment, at which point he came to live with us. He is very smart, and very, very anti-social when it comes to other cats. Isn't afraid of anything, be it water or even gunfire.
Ravyn: AKA: The Buddy. Black Male. My mom bought him some years ago while she was in a local PetsMart. He grabbed her shirt sleeve and let out a pitiful "mew," which she couldn't resist. Goofy as hell and loves ice cream and black olives.
Gary: AKA: The Vietnam Vet. Orange/White male. Loves hamburger and raw chicken. Is neurologically impaired due to accidentally ingesting some anti-flea medication, which he barely survived.
Scrunty: AKA: The Scrunch. White/Black male. Absolutely huge, and has only been angry twice since we've had him. He is the single most loving cat I've ever come across. Has a slight case of asthma.
Katrina: AKA: Monkey Girl, Jr. Orange/White female. Kohl and Duncan's sister. In her younger days, she would run around the house at breakneck speeds and could often be seen on the tops of open doors.
Vanessa: AKA: Nessie; AKA: Monkey Girl. Torty female. Mother of Kohl, Duncan, Katrina, Zoey, and Zelda. Our "momma cat." Used to be very athletic before she had kids. Is now very sweet, but somewhat timid.
Rake: AKA: Target Spokescat. Tabby male. Very timid, and frequently hit by the other cats. Named after Rake Yohn.
Zelda: AKA: The Original Happy Cat; AKA: Hippie Girl. Orange/White female. Has permanent "weepy eyes." Very loving, but has some personal space issues. Also has a favorite toy she treats like a child, which we call her "baby."
Lemon Drop: AKA: The Drop; AKA: The Lemons; AKA: Baby Drop; AKA: Drop Kick. Orange/White male. One of our youngest generation and brother to Twizzler, son of Bobby Sue. Both he and her sister are lovable little kids, but take umbrage to being held.
Lupe: AKA: Baby Pe; AKA: Crazy Girl; AKA: Nutso Cat. White/Black female. Another of our youngest generation, though not related to (but older than) Baby Drop. Used to be famous for climbing curtains with little to no damage. Is still very athletic and very crazy. Also takes umbrage to being held for too long.
There's more...but I think I'll stop here.

No pics either. But I have a golden retriever named Sandy II. The Rookets love him. They curl up on him when they're not feeling well. It really is way too much cuteness to handle while standing. Oh, and I have a pair of guinea pigs called Huey and Riley.

Charlie being held by my brother and my Jon. Charlie is my darling Maltese, the love of my life, whom my family got when I went away to college. I think he was supposed to replace me, but I'm going to end up taking him with me if I ever move out My brother wasn't supposed to replace me, presumably, but I also might steal him when I move out, 'cause he's too awesome. (Edited the picture to delete my brother, even though I like him.)

We had a family cat called Spider when I was growing up (my parents named him, not me). I've always loved cats and I'm proud to say I got my own kitten a few monthes back. He's called Monty =]
