Sharp shards of broken glass. Not the pellets of broken tempered glass, though.
And centipedes. I'm even more afraid of centipedes than I am of flying cockroaches.

I'm afraid of...
Darkness: Usually one gets over this after childhood, but as I wake up in the middle of a dream and hallucinate, I tend to loose all rationality. My monsters were not of my imagination. I actually saw 'em. >.< *shivers*
Enclosed spaces: I guess the fact that my sister loved to lock me in our toy chest when I was a kid doesn't help with this. Idiots tend to think that since I can fit in small spaces, then I love being in them.
Being lost: Yay, panic attacks on the highway...
People in masks/suits hiding their face: Not really scared of them, but they make me super uncomfortable.

Electric shocks. I hate static electricity so freaking much. I used to have a trampoline a while back and I often preferred to jump off and land on the gravel in bare feet than climb off normally and get a small zap when I touch one of the metal parts. I don't have a problem with electricity itself per se, just as long as I'm not part of the circuit.

Fears I've gotten over: The dark. Took me a hell of a long time to get over my fear of the dark, because of a traumatizing event from my childhood. But woo, I'm over it now. This, except it was a fear of demons which, I reasoned, only showed up in the dark/at night. Also, deep and/or dark water. I can't stand the thought of being floating helplessly while some scary-as-hell thing circles me, preparing to attack and eat me, whether or not I'm able to breathe. It's strong enough that when I go into large bodies of water in games (e.g. WoW, TES IV: Oblivion) I get a sort of tingly sensation and feel on edge until I get out of the water. It might stem from my late learning to swim and my inability to swim more than decently. I don't think, however, that any fear I have or have ever had is severe enough to be called a phobia. I find insects, especially roaches, unpleasant but I've sort of had to get used to them.

Heights, first and foremost.
Strange animals. I had my ankle chewed up by a dog when I was young, and thankfully it's never been a real physical problem, but emotionally? Yeah, I love animals, but if I don't know them...
Being unable to move. I'm not claustrophobic, though. Long as I can actually move, it doesn't matter how tight the space is.
I'm not really sure my issues with the dark count. I'm not afraid of the dark so much as I get a lot of anxiety at night. Used to be unable to sleep in a house full of people so my only option was to angst with the lights off.

Another one of mine is being in awkward situations where I have no idea what to do. For example, at work the other day, my boss told me to take a plant back to the bathroom, trim its dead branches and water it. I did that, but water began to leak out the bottom of the pot and into that clear tray thing. Unsure of what to do, I tried to pick the plant up, but water spilled everywhere. I proceeded to silently panic because I wasn't sure what to do with this heavy, drippy plant.

I'm afraid of Dogs. Just their barking is enough to get me to jump. If I "learn" a dog, though, I can be more comfortable. Although, I still don't like being around the bigger ones.
I am also afraid of "stinger-equipped insects". Mostly those of the flying variety. I had lots of run-ins with them as a child, and they were often not the same particular bug. Spiders, fine. Cockroaches, okay. But if it buzzes and has a stinger, I cower and flee.
I am also afraid of losing my hair. Thankfully, that fear will no longer be an issue in a few months.

I used to be afraid of the dark and death. I lost my thantophobia when I stopped believing in an afterlife Happy you got over your fear of Death. Though fear ofdeath is pretty much normal in all the animal kingdom, it's a survival mechanism. And for you others, fear of spiders and other creepy crawlies is not irrational. Those things can hurt. I read somewhere that the fear of falling is the most universal fear of animals, even snails fear falling. And since falls are a leading cause of injury it's not irrational. Me, I'm afeard of tons of stuff, mostly irrational. Panic attacks, the whole deal. But this is only recent and I'm tackling things. Got over one fear two weeks ago. Took the plunge and did what I was afraid of ( no , not THAT! ) and fear is now gone. :sigh of relief:

This is going to sound seriously nutty, but I used to have a phobia of one of my self-made fictional characters. I made him extremely perverted and gave him a prisoner fetish, and proceeded to write a story where my main character, a young woman, was held captive by him and got subsequently molested. I put myself into her shoes, making her reactions as realistic as I possibly could, and ended up literally traumatizing myself. My extreme discomfort with everything that reminded me of that man lasted for a year.
The weird thing came when I got so tired of it that I gave my young woman character four therapy sessions. Doing the therapy on myself wouldn't work for some reason, but a fictional one with her finally cleared my phobia up. I didn't have very high hopes at the time, but now I don't underestimate the power of imagination.

I've always felt a little left out that I don't have any real phobias. There was about a month when I was six and saw Hannibal on cable that I was afraid of cannibals, but then looked up the rarity of them and calmed down (and got kicked off the Internet at school for going on sites about modern cannibals).
But yeah. Never been afraid of the dark, heights, bugs, snakes, rodents, nothing. I've sometimes gone to great lengths to scare myself but nothing so far but an addiction to theme park rides.

Shipwrecks. I have no idea how this one developed, as I used to love specials on the sinking of the Titanic and was fascinated by Robert Ballard. Boats I am ok with and water too, but somehow the former under water scares the bejeebus out of me. Last year in archaeology class I almost had to excuse myself when we were discussing underwater archaeology.
Oddly enough, wooden shipwrecks freak me out less than any other kind of shipwreck.

Spiders. Well, pretty much any organism with an exoskeleton. However, I've gotten much better since my daughter has been around, as I'm trying to teach her caution without irrational fear. I've actually picked up several insects/spiders that I know are harmless simply to teach her not to be shit-scared of everything with more than 4 legs.
Unfortunately, this is kinda not working out as I had planned, as we have a yellow-jacket nest near the house (I'll clear the fuckers out when it gets cold...), and she told me off for trying to kill one by saying "Daddy, I like bees. They're pretty." Of course, I told her that they're not bees, but try arguing taxonomy with a 3-year-old...
Anyway, the one that has really been bothering me recently is FLYING. Because of the situation I went and got myself in, I will have to fly to Japan at least once a year for the rest of my life. I will also have to fly to various other places for various other reasons that I have no control over. What really pisses me off is that I know exactly how irrational this fear is, but I still can't do anything about it.
And any doctor will tell you that 13 hours with a heart rate of 100+ is not a good thing...I'm way more likely to die of a heart attack on the fucking plane than in a plane crash.

Scorpions. I have Never sold back a game before because something in it scared me, but the radscorps freaked me out so much, I nearly went into an anxiety attack every time I fought them. My fiancee told me, a few years ago that she nearly put a fake one in the bed as a joke. I told her I'd dump her on the spot; or in a rare sense of forgiveness, put Jaws in the DVD player on repeat for her to wake up to.
I'm also clausterphobic. Years ago, my friend (Who was several inches taller and outweighed me by over 100 pounds) put me in a coffin-shaped box and sat on it. I somehow broke out of the box, then I broke his nose. He was Much nicer to me after that.

Mr. Turquoise Fear of spiders is instinctive in children and peaks at about the age of four. There is no way to rationalise or teach them otherwise. Kinda like the chickenhawk shadow deal in chicks. Fear of flying, oh yeah. Though I suppose it's more a fear of crashing.
