Finished Life and Fate. Very strange tone. Kept alternating between this dark and dreary landscapes to small scenes of camaraderie. It was an amaaaazing book though.
Now onto the Brothers Karamazov by Dostoyevsky

Recently finished A Handmaid's Tale. It was slow going, because I had to constantly repress the urge to kill something.

I'm attempting to read The Sum of All Fears but its a little to boring for my taste. A shithouse author. I'm proud to say I thought he was an arrogant, hyper-conservative moron exhibiting a dangerous amount of hubris when I read Rainbow Six at 14. I've since come to realise that he's essentially Reagen without the homely humour.

I am absolutely loving the Brothers Karamazov. The characters are so...dynamic. Next I shall read Madame Bovary by Flaubert

'Variable Star', a posthumous collaboration between Robert Heinlein and Spider Robinson. About a third of the way in, and it's charmingly and intelligently written. As well as having just started on 'J.O.B: A Comedy of Justice', also Heinlein.

I am absolutely loving the Brothers Karamazov. The characters are so...dynamic. Next I shall read Madame Bovary by Flaubert The Brothers Karamazov is wonderful. It's a shame that Dostoyevsky never got to finish the rest of the series. I always wondered how it would turn out. Obviously we should resurrect him with a zombie machine. FOR SCIENCE! Now reading Out of Oz, the final book in the Wicked Years series by Gregory Maguire. I love how complex his stories and characters are, but whenever I read it I always need to keep a dictionary close by.

Re-reading Salvation's Reach by Dan Abnett: It shows how much he's grown as a writer to get this good.
