I haven't had it but I know a guy who had it over the summer. He's fine now.

I was off work for a week with the dreaded piggy flu. I was ill for about five days.
The doctors in the UK won't permit anyone who suspects they have this virus anywhere near their surgeries - you have to fill in an on-line form, which begins by ensuring that you can breathe, are not having a heart attack and are not suffering from meningitis. From your answers to these questions, you are diagnosed and have to nominate someone who can go to a designated pharmacy to collect a tamiflu prescription - you are not permitted to darken the doorstep of the chemist yourself.
David D.G. - my newly pregnant daughter-in-law also caught swine flu at the same time - she is now well, and unaffected by the virus except for feeling very tired.

My cousin got it in April. He got the test results from his doctor a month ago. He thought it was a normal flu. And even with my asthma, I'm not worried.

I love the hype over this shit.
NEW STRAIN OF INFLUENZA, EVERYBODY PANIC!!!!1!!!eleventyone *eyeroll*
You'd think the Black Death had made a comeback, or something, the way people are going on about it.
I'm getting the vaccine, though, just to be safe, as flu of any kind is DO NOT WANT.

Had it back in June. Did a live concert for radio and a TV recording while barely able to stand and hallucinating at night.
Not a fun time.

Keep in mind that PAX likely got nailed by it this year. No fatalities that I've heard of.
Hell, the only deadlier than normal flu I know of is avian flu, and the lethality of it seems largely dependent on if the person is in a shithole third-world nation or a fairly industrialized one. What's more, it seems to have only really hit the shittier countries. So....
SARS.... Now that's some serious shit. Remember when everyone was shitting themselves in terror of a nasty variant of the common cold?

Question: What's PAX?Hell, the only deadlier than normal flu I know of is avian flu, and the lethality of it seems largely dependent on if the person is in a shithole third-world nation or a fairly industrialized one. What's more, it seems to have only really hit the shittier countries. So.... Even that turned out to be a bust -- there was no epidemic, no pandemic, just a few isolated cases in Bumfuk, China.SARS.... Now that's some serious shit. Remember when everyone was shitting themselves in terror of a nasty variant of the common cold? HAHAHA, yes. And given these recent "OHNOEZ SUPERVIRUS!!!!1!!" scares, and how they turned out, I'm surprised anyone's been panicky over this. It's just another scare.

God, WMDKitty. You're sooo clueless about internet and webcomic culture! God! Penny Arcade Expo is a comic book/webcomic convention started by the duo that created Penny-Arcade. Penny-Arcade being likely the best known, highest visited webcomic out there.

My sister has it right now.
She's mad because I'm making her wear a mask. I can't afford to get it and have to miss school. My college is anal about absences. If you were out getting your appendix removed, they'd probably order you to bring in your appendix to prove it when you came back. They don't give a shit about doctor excuses, either.

It wasn't swine flu, but I finally recovered, about a week ago, from THE single worst case of the flu I have ever had the misfortune of having. We're taking "three inches from death" bad. "A week in the hospital" bad (hence my prolonged absence from here). I'm all well now, though.
