Well, here's to Shawn's recovery, and continued well-being. I sincerely hope he gets a handle on things, and gets himself healthy. Mental illness (in any form) is no joking matter. The fact that he is once again on a video says to me that he is not serious and is still just seeking the limelight. I don't approve of what he did, so don't go getting the wrong impression. That doesn't change how I feel. I honestly want him to get whatever help he needs, be it medications or counseling (probably both), because I've been in very unhealthy mental states, and know how important it is to get that help. Frankly, I wish him the best of luck in this. As for this latest video being evidence of him "not being serious" and "seeking the limelight", I dunno. He may surprise us all and follow through with his promise. He may not. We'll see.

Kitty I was not implying that you agreed with what he did. If he does have some type of mental problem that he needs help with I hope he does get help and takes care of himself.
In my mind that is a very big if.

As a great man once said: Shit happens. Oh, no. Shit is a whole process. 1. The esophagus is a long muscular tube, which moves food from the mouth to the stomach. 2. The abdomen contains all of the digestive organs. 3. The stomach, situated at the top of the abdomen, normally holds just over 3 pints (about 1500 ml) of food from a single meal. Here the food is mixed with an acid that is produced to assist in digestion. In the stomach, acid and other digestive juices are added to the ingested food to facilitate breakdown of complex proteins, fats and carbohydrates into small, more absorbable units. 4. A valve at the entrance to the stomach from the esophagus allows the food to enter while keeping the acid-laden food from "refluxing" back into the esophagus, causing damage and pain. 5. The pylorus is a small round muscle located at the outlet of the stomach and the entrance to the duodenum (the first section of the small intestine). It closes the stomach outlet while food is being digested into a smaller, more easily absorbed form. When food is properly digested, the pylorus opens and allows the contents of the stomach into the duodenum. 6. The small intestine is about 15 to 20 feet long (4.5 to 6 meters) and is where the majority of the absorption of the nutrients from food takes place. The small intestine is made up of three sections: the duodenum, the jejunum and the ileum. 7. The duodenum is the first section of the small intestine and is where the food is mixed with bile produced by the liver and with other juices from the pancreas. This is where much of the iron and calcium is absorbed. 8. The jejunum is the middle part of the small intestine extending from the duodenum to the ileum; it is responsible for digestion. 9. The last segment of the intestine, the ileum, is where the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K and other nutrients are absorbed. 10. Another valve separates the small and large intestines to keep bacteria-laden colon contents from coming back into the small intestine. 11. In the large intestines, excess fluids are absorbed and a firm stool is formed. The colon may absorb protein, when necessary.

The fact that he is once again on a video says to me that he is not serious and is still just seeking the limelight. I don't think that's necessarily a reason to believe he's insincere. It strikes me that he really doesn't want to say these things. That could either mean he was asked to do a sign-off video or that he's actually being sincere. Either way, it was DPRJones who posted the video. That being said, what mental illness could he have? The only thing I can come up with is "being an attention whore."

I see similar behaviors with **** ******. If you've ever seen arguments with Troy in the comments section of the mainpage, his dedication to frustrating his critics I would view as an OCD. Of course, I may be misdiagnosing his problem.
He's in a position where he can't escape the consequences for his actions. Asking for help to get back on track (especially where he's wandered) isn't really that odd.

The fact that he is once again on a video says to me that he is not serious and is still just seeking the limelight. That was part of the deal though, that he was to offer another apology. While I hope he is going to get help, i still read him as "I'm just doing this because I have no choice and will mentally fight against it" than honestly seeking help

He did act suspiciously like he was trying to downplay his own problems and look like the "better man" while still fulfilling the stipulations of the deal.
That, coupled with his past history, is why I'm reluctant to say that this time will be any different, or that he'll change at all.
No such skepticism from his supporters, of course....

I got the same impression. The "filthy humanist" in me is still not prepared to write him off, but I certainly won't be surprised if he winds up being slapped with a lawsuit within 3-5 years.
As far as I know, his supporters would be quoting Luke
"If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple."
"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me."
