Here be the place to discuss meets for the American continent sometime in the year 2010. Hopefully we can arrange a great big everybody meeting, but if people want to do a small group meeting, that's grand too.
Those who want their meet information updated to the OP, please PM me and I shall so do.

Food for thought. This place in New Orleans: www.cornstalkhotel.com/It costs $2k per night for the whole building and has 10 rooms all of which can house two or more people, so if we get 20-30 people it could be completely affordable for a few days to a week. If we want to do a major meet somewhere else, I can do the research and hunting for a housing venue if we all want to stay at the same place.

Even with thirty people, that place would still cost better than sixty-five dollars per person per night. On the other hand, that could be affordable in New Orleans. I'm not really sure.

With the placement and whatnot, it's actually pretty awesome pricing for New Orleans.

Well, just to save folks the math then, a week for thirty people at that place would cost 475-500 dollars with tax. With 20 people it jumps to about $750. Certainly doable propositions.

If we cut it to five days for travel reasons, it gets significantly better.

N'Olans would be pretty good for me, considering I'm conveniently located adjacent to Louisiana. We could go around October, that way I'm 21 and can get wasted like everyone else.

If we do have a meet in NO, I insist there be stuff done that works for people like me who won't be drinking. You know, SOBER events, in addition to whatever you boozers decide to do. Also there must be runaway places for the nondrinkers to hide.

Eeh, I wouldn't really get blind, stinkin drunk (that's what my 21st birthday is for). A little buzzed, sure. But yeah, something for everyone. And ice cream.

I'd get hammered if we went pub hopping. So how many MD/VA/DC/PA folks we got here anyway? I know Cait, Jeb, Myself, Rookie and Maryland Bear are all around here...Any others?

On the PA note I shall be vacationing in Philly May 11th-18th, if anyone's interested and gives me some notice I'll gladly be involved in the standing of beers/coffees/similar at some point during the week.

I'm in Delaware, that's close enough to MD/VA/DC/PA.

Nevermind guys. I'm out as far as a summer meet is concerned unless everyone wants to converge on Indianapolis.
