I agree with Aqualung, not everything needs to be made "kid-friendly"! Besides, I was reading a book recently where a case was made that the reason why body satisfaction is on the decline in the US (and I am sure this could go everywhere) is because we don't see REAL naked people enough. Think of it, the first taste of nudity some kids see (other than their own bodies) is some partial nudity in a movie or porn...which for the most part are not representative. Nudity is perfectly natural. Some kids will, no doubt, think seeing naked people is gross, let them get over it.

How did they get from child nudity to gay marriage?

I just don't get what's supposedly so awful about nudity.
Fundies style themselves on being all pure and chaste, but they sexualize everything. If they think of child nudity or a child seeing nudity as an inherently sexual things, then THEY are the perverts.
Also, I agree with Trike. People (including young people *gasp*) need to see MORE nudity of normal, imperfect people. Not only would it help with body image, it would probably help them to NOT see nudity as a dirty or inherently sexual thing.

Nudity is not inherently sexual. That's a fucking cultural phenomenon.
After all the fat, misshapen, old, and even fucking gorgeous bodies in drawing classes... nudity does not turn me on by itself. Seeing a nude person would not automatically get me thinking about sex even if they were boneable.
This "omg nude=sex" line of thinking is what perpetuates burqas. We need some nude beaches in america.
edit: We actually discussed this in one of my classes last semester. It's a trend that art students are desensitized to nudity in relation to the rest of america. Why? We see it all the fucking time.

I get the idea that biologists are somewhat the same way, at least, those who do anything with anatomy. Seriously, a nude body, big deal, I've seen naked dead people. Naked dead people with their innards hanging out.

How did they get from child nudity to gay marriage? The huge KY-filled slide. This idea that "you should only see your spouse naked AFTER YOU'RE MARRIED" seems to be a reflection of their own messed up sexuality. I agree with Trike and Yojetak. It's this "moralistic" demonization of the human body that has Westerners so messed up and uncomfortable about their sexuality.

We need some nude beaches in america. There were before I showed up and scared them all away. Seriously, they're out there. It just takes a bit of looking and, more than likely, some good walking shoes to find them.

The Summer Festivals my band plays at and also where the Missus and I will be getting married is a big family oriented event where all ages are welcome. Yes, sometimes there is a very small child running around naked. No, none of us care.
I really don't understand these people...My folks used to let me run around naked when I was really little...It's not a bad thing..I think they honestly believe that there are pedophiles lurking behind every trash can or in every dark alley waiting to get their children. Don't studies show that most molestation comes from a family friend or relative anyway? Don't quote me there...I think I've heard that somewhere...

We also tend to look at the nude body more analytically, almost like a doctor. No matter how hot a model is, once I start drawing her, all sexual thoughts go right out the window. Don't studies show that most molestation comes from a family friend or relative anyway? Don't quote me there...I think I've heard that somewhere... That's what I was saying too. These people ought to be less concerned about strangers seeing kids naked and more concerned about the kids' creepy uncle.

Because creepy Uncle George goes to a good church, just like theirs and would NEVER behave in such a manner. He can also quote the Bible good. What are you thinking? </sarcasm>

Those people at Rapture Forums really do seem to have something against "the naked".
Really amazing that every post in that thread was like this:
Around here we have strict rules against showering with swimming suits on (at public swimming pools and places like that) and it is perfectly normal for a whole family to go to sauna together, all naked. OMG! I've seen most of my relatives naked and I'm still not traumatized over it! PANIC!
...Or should we really shower with our clothes on then? In the dark bathroom while the rest of the house is empty? Carefull not to even see own body while washing it and avoid touching the "naughty spots"? I'd really hate to see the world where fundies would be making all those decitions for rest of us...

I used to go naked in public all the time. I stopped when nobody noticed.

As the oldest of three, I've seen my siblings naked all the time. I've seen my mother and other women in my family breast feed. I also had to share a tub with my cousin one time. I laugh at the idea that seeing another person naked turns you into some kind of sexual deviant. Because, despite all the nudity I've seen, I'm still a virgin.

I have to say that nudity turns me on. But only if they're hot. Seeing non-sexy naked people doesn't make me think of sex.
But I did take showers with both parents until I was 8 or so.
On that topic, my brother(same one mentioned before) took a shower with Mom and her sister. That would have traumatized me.
