Oh and I don't know how helpful this will be, but my old username was also MozMode.

Ok guys, for those newbies I'll give you a shot, if you haven't sucked royally at approving quotes before, I'm not terribly likely to leave you out, though I will keep a close eye on newbs. I've let one who I was talking with via email in already. If you're an established member, all the better. PM me the username and password you want and I'll set you up, that goes for everyone without an old forum account. Oh dear, I don't even dare to ask... I'm noticing a trend, the ones who don't think they'll make it have some of the best records. Those with old accounts, you're good to go, newbs, fire away with your info and I'll set you up relatively soon. I can understand wanting to get right into things, but I have to limit just how much I do for fundies or I'll be eating up absolutely all my spare time with it, and I need to relax at some point.

Just one piece of advice for the newbies (and a refresher for the veterans), keep it funny. We have hundreds if not thousands of quotes saying stuff like 'evolution is just a theory' or 'athiests [sic] are sinners damned to hell ' and we really don't need more of them. Now, if you get somebody saying that we didn't evolve from chimpanzees, but from mules by all means approve it.

Ok, who are all these people approving quotes with blatant editorializing?
Also, Distind, I saw a quote with 27 approvals and no kill shots... Where do you have the numbers set for keep/kill?

I was just over at Public Admin, and it seems that there are no more quotes left to approve/delete. Is this normal?

I guess we're not getting the submissions that we usually get. I'm assuming that some have not found their way over to the new site.

Check back later. That's what I figured. I just wanted to make sure my computer wasn't screwing up. It does that sometimes

In a way I'm kinda happy about it, this is the first time in a while that I've laughed repeatedly while going through public admin. I'm sure things will pick up though, I know public admin voting is going a lot better today than last night. On that note, I've just finished some updates for us mods(and added titles to most of the pages simply because that has been annoying me), which should help smooth out some of the problem quotes that get submitted. Pretty much, we can just hop in and edit the quote while it's sitting in the queue now, without having to do convoluted revolutions of annoyance to pull it off.

I have a question: Is Public Admin going all exclusive now so that not everyone automatically becomes a mod after making enough posts in the forums?

I have a question: Is Public Admin going all exclusive now so that not everyone automatically becomes a mod after making enough posts in the forums? Yes, yes it is. After reviewing some of the voting records of some our members with exactly 26 posts I nearly put my head through my desk, so, I'm taking some additional time to actually get to know folks to some extent, chat with them a bit, and give them access. Honestly, so far the only person asking for access that I'm having a hard time considering for entry is Gamefax who was the reason I ever started looking at the voting records in the first place. I do need to take some time to examine his more recent records, but looking at the voting patterns over all right now, I'm quite happy with the crop of approvers who are in so far. Not quite a constant pattern, variations to account for different tastes, but overall a pretty good grasp of what makes for funny fundie. Just that we're lacking in submissions that don't suck at the moment.

So I'm not to approve anything with fundamentalist attributes right ?Just the ones that I find to be particularly strange.

That's the impression I'm getting. There are tired old lines that fundies use frequently - 'atheist scoffers will burn' is something we've heard so often that it's not funny material (even though it's undeniably fundie standard).
But when someone says something that is blatantly, hilariously stupid - or just horribly wrong, even from the perspective of a 'reasonable' Christian (eg. 'Job is an Old Testament story, so it doesn't involve Christianity.' or 'Some Asian cultures believe in eating aborted babies.')
Basically, I'm giving a thumbs down to anything that makes me sigh sadly, and a thumbs up to anything that makes me chuckle.
