Why is is that Smithwicks tastes awesome on tap, but like garbage when bottled? Because when you drink a beer, drinking it from the bottle denies you the full flavor. Pour that Smithwicks out, into a pint glass, and enjoy. Don't use frosted mugs, either. The condensation corrupts the flavor of the beer. In order to enjoy the full flavor of a beer you should be able to smell it as well. We brew beer and mead at our house. Just bottled the Cherry Ostara mead from 2008. It's heavenly. Currently registering at 22.6% alchohol by volume. When I drink, it's gotta be tap beer. The only exception is if I'm at some random party and there is swill. I will choke down Miller Lite until a buzz occurs. If I'm at a pub, it's Jameson and Smithwicks or Guiness.

I never used a frosted mug, I knew about the condensation issue. I'll try pouring it in to a glass next time.

Well, being a Kiwi, I think it's important to drink local. My beer of choice is: Sadly, it's a seasonal brew and it's the middle of friggin' winter, so I can't get any.

So what is everbody's favorite booze? Can be beer, mixed drinks, whatever. Mine is easily Arrogant Bastard Ale. My second favorite (and my favorite "mainstream" beer I guess you could say) is Guinness I recently tried this when I was on holiday in New York and I loved it, I had several over the course of the holiday. I havn't been able to find it in the UK though, very disappointing! I'm normally a bit of a beer monster, love Calrsberg Export and Bud would probably be my favourites. When I'm at home i'm partial to a nice glass of red wine, ummmmmmm... red wine sounds good about now, pity I'm at work!

My local recently started selling this and I have to say I fucking love the stuff. This stuff isn't bad either though you'll be hard pressed to get your hands on it anywhere south of the Tees.

Oh yeah, Crabbies is the shit! Most Whetherspoon Pubs I've been into serve this and I love it, not quite as much as Bud and Calrsberg Export though

This thread makes me sad that I won't be 21 for over a year.

Not being 21 hasn't stopped people in the past from getting booze. You just have to be more careful.
