School just drains me. After reading for 6 hours on school subjects and writing papers, I just can't be arsed to read something I like, or write something I like. I also didn't have a decent English teacher 'til college. High school took me, an avid reader and aspiring writer, and made me resent reading somewhat. The class took half a fucking year to read a book, and I'd have it read in a week of class time. No reading at home, only in class. Gods, that high school sucked.
On the other hand, 2 of my college English professors got me back into reading and much more into writing. And made me much better at it.

College: Proving that high school is pretty much pointless. Except for bettering your social skills and learning that 90% of the population is almost irredeemably stupid.
