I WANT DONNA BACK!!! *will not let it go* I haven't seen the new Doctor in action but I'm downloading the first episode right now and am excited to see how he holds up (I'm sure he'll do fine) It might be too soon for me to love another ginger companion though...

How do you lot get to see it now? My cousins in Texas say they don't get the new series until months after it comes out here. Is it on TV there, or do you watch it online? BBC1, saturday evenings. Only thing worth watching on the BBC really They have BBC1 in America?

I think they have BBC America, but that really depends on which provider/package you have. If all else fails, you can just torrent em. It might take an hour or two (depending on connection), but you'll have it until you don't want it anymore...or until you archive it. ... Speaking of which, I need to do that...

There has been no Dr Who since Tom Baker. In fact there has been no Dr Who apart from Tom Baker and John Pertwee

I like all the Doctors, personally.
Tom's Doctor is iconic though, and is what most people think of when they hear of Doctor Who.

I think we need to discuss the important things - ie cybermen or daleks?

Cybermen. I never saw the appeal of the daleks.
Also, there was no Doctor between the first season of Peter Davidson and the middle of the Sylvester McCoy era (when he convinced the writers to switch his character from a clown to a schemer).

Cybermen. They're cooler and more obedient. The Daleks would make poor additions to my army.

I have to disagree there. From my perspective, the Doctor only showed hints of being a schemer/manipulator during the end of the 26th season with McCoy, which, if the show hadn't been canceled (Or 'put on hiatus, as the Beeb called it), it would have culminated in the "Cartmel Master Plan" (Google if it you like, it's a bit complicated) Some, myself included, are happy that didn't come to be.

If only real Scottish girls were more like Amy Pond, I'd be set. *sigh*
Though I still think Matt Smith's a bit too young to play the Doctor. He's got the presence and he's got the humour, but he doesn't have the gravitas that needs to be mixed in with that.
