Man, between the oil in the Gulf, and the toxins released by such a huge amount of burning styrofoam, this has NOT been a good year for the environment!

The war on atheism dude picked this up in his latest spamming, apparently immolating large tacky Jesus Statues is gods way of telling atheists that they're fucked.
If so God has some serious communication and rage issues. I mean if your omnipotent, how about just appearing before everyone on the planet hell I don't know writting messages in the sky with burning fire would be cool

The best part is that the statue was surrounded by water the whole time it was burning!

Wouldn't it make more sense to, say, destroy a museum or Dawkins bus?

Geez, is Mabus still dumping his diarrhea here? Any way to block him, or does he use proxies/different IPs?

I'm sure it made a good fluff piece in other areas to fill the extra space between real news... Heh, "Terminator Jesus." And for those of us who didn't live around that area... before... After During...

This quote is teh lulz!
The statue was definitely tacky, but can you imagine what would've happened had it not been there? The lightning bolt would've likely set the church ablaze (probably with people still inside). It's like Jesus was taking the bullet for everyone.
And this one is typical of fundie knowledge-gathering abilities:
Didn't something similar happen like that in Haiti? I can't remember, but I think lightning struck something there, too?
Never a dull moment at rr...

Was this from the storm that passed through last night? I'm just wondering because we had a tornado warning at 12:46 am here in Kent County, MI. I am just wondering if this storm is the same one that zapped Jesus.

I was able to catch a quick look at the Boobquake/Death of Atheism troll thread last night, before it got modsmacked. He's added this very statue to his copy/paste repertoire. If I remember correctly, he says this statue burning is a warning to atheists. Lolwut.

I have no idea what you're talking about, or what it has to do with what I said. o.o

Yes, Ohio is to the east of us, I live in Grand Rapids so I think this may have been the same storm. Although I have got to love the irony of this happening. Maybe God is warning the fundies?

Yes, Ohio is east of you, and the Jesus statue burned down over a week ago, there is no way last night's storm did it.
