In a small Hollywood dinner Warren Buffet and Bill Gates plotted over milk shakes. What scheme where they haching? A take over of the world Pinky and the Brain style, No. They where discussing how to get more money for charities. What did two of the riches people in the world come up with? Asking other super rich people to give half of their net worth to charity. The $600 billion was launched! features.blogs.fortune.cnn.com/2010/06/16/gates-buffett-600-billion-dollar-philanthropy-challenge/?hpt=C2Bill - "What do you want to do tonight Warren?" Warren - "The same thing we do every night Bill, try to take over the wor........I mean get more money for charities!"

Warren Buffet has definitely handed over a massive portion of his net wealth to various charities IIRC

Warren Buffet has made the largest charitable contribution ever, I do believe. He threw down a fuckton of money and challenged Gates to do the same. And this is why Bill Gates is now one of the greatest philanthropists in history.

Fun fact about Warren Buffet: When Buffet took of Berkshire Hathaway it was more or less just a textile manufacturer. It now owns several dozen companies, most of them very valuable. GEICO being one of them.

Bill Gates, according to Wikipedia, has given over $28 billion dollars to various charities. As of this moment, he's worth $53 billion dollars. So he's followed through.
This sounds like a good plan. I mean, what in the fuck else do you do with $53 billion dollars? A person could not reasonably spend that much money on their own enjoyment in a lifetime.

Gates gave $500, 000, 000 to either an AIDS foundation or a 'help the public libraries' foundation. Can't remember which.
