I actually grew up in Jefferson County. Lakewood, in fact. I'm glad this guy's no longer prowling, though Colorado Springs to Lakewood is about a ninety minute drive. Within that radius I'm sure there are plenty of others.

Honestly, though, I'm not that surprised. An organization like FotF that focuses on other people's lives like that has always seemed creepy, and the fact that they busted this guy only furthers my suspicions. I find it ironic that the centralised morality-enforcing authority advocated by the "family values" brigade would actually make the family less relevant as a social institution.

In the words of my dad, "Focus on your own damn family!" My dad is a nominal Christian, but organizations like FotF scare the crap out of him. He thinks they're trying to turn the US into a Christian theocracy (which I completely agree with). My great-grandmother highly distrusted Focus on the Family. In her words, they were "ishkrypelis organizacija" (deviant organization). She thought they were a whole bunch of pedophiles, and it seems as though she was right.

I love it when people preach holier than thou bullshit while doing something more reprehensible than those they are preaching to.

So, when it comes to Focus on the Family, it seems morality is something that happens to other people.

They are sorry for their actions and thier inability to live up to their rules. The great unwashed masses are unrepentant and so are worthy of condemnation.
