The problem is that I feel a little guilty taking it as an atheist. I wouldn't actually be teaching doctrine or anything, or even involved in the sermon--I'd be caring for children too young to talk. And I do need the money. Of course, I'd have to watch my tongue when religion comes up. What do you guys think? (Oh, and I wasn't sure where to put this, so as always, mods, if it's wrong feel free to move it.) I had the same feeling when I do craft sales - making/selling Christmas ornaments (one of my biggest sellers is the Nativity Scene with miniatures inside a glass ball ornament) - but I figure I'm not selling the belief - the ornament doesn't create the belief it's just the representation -and if it makes them feel good and gives this agnostic some cash - more the better. If you are the best person for the job - then why should you feel guilty? I'm pretty sure if it came down to you or the fundie pyromaniac they wouldn't feel any more guilty NOT giving it to a religious person.

I would add that if it wasn't important enough for them to ask about your religion, it probably isn't something they care about (although IDK whether your local anti-discrimination law has any exemptions for churches, although it would be rather odd if it didn't).
