It's funny how Ahmadinejad is everything AA hates. Until he promotes a conspiracy theory.

He's getting overly cocky. Riffling feathers is a really bad idea when multiple countries are already discussing going to war with you, regardless of your nuclear capabilities and dreams of war with the Israelis. Overly cocky is an understatement. Not even Kim Jong-Il would say something that brazen to the whole world. Not that I know of anyways.

Well, Kim Jong Il is just so wacky it's hard to take anything he says seriously.

Ahmadinejad is the fucking man. It takes some serious cojones to deliberately piss off the most powerful nation on Earth, especially considering it's already considering going to war with you. Kind of like the D&D nerd who takes a swing at the football team captain. One one hand it's a retarded thing to do, on the other it's extremely badass. Not surprised you see eye to eye with Ahmadinejad, you both like getting negative attention for releasing brain-farts designed to offend and obfuscate. How would you like to live in Ahmadinejad's Iran? Consider this Amnesty International report. Someone who distrusts American coppers but loves the leader of a regime which turns a blind eye to systematic torture, including rape, perpertrated by its security forces? The mind boggles.

I was thinking this might be the same tactic as Kim Jong Il's: act all threatening and mean in hope the enemy will think "Even if we can beat them in war these guys are insane enough to fuck us up!" At the same time, it may help rally other anti-americans who might not have previously felt drawn to the government's party. A form of populism; telling them what they want to hear. Good or not, I think it's a calculated strategy.

Ahmadinejad is the fucking man. Totally, dude. I just love a man who fucks over his own people by rigging elections, tightening up already unfair regulations, increasing the number of executions, looking the other way when a violent terrorist group storms universities and kills students, locking people up for daring to express an opinion, caring more about the fact that some girl's hair is sticking out of her headscarf than whether or not her husband beats her, and using the local clerics as a means to control the people. Like you, Admadinejad likes to stir the pot. We know this. Unfortunately, his comments have actual political consequences, and the way he treats his people isn't any less horrific, regardless of his intentions. I'm not saying he's a good leader or that I would touch living in his country with a ten foot pole, but come on, that was nothing short of throwing down to someone way bigger than you are. Kind of like that Chinese dude standing up to the tank.

AA, are you aware that in the real world, stronger people won't normally kick your ass if you piss them off? Average adults have more self-control than that. I could go to the gym, locate some body-builder type and call him names (that's kinda paraphrasing your own analogy) and that wouldn't take much guts because people reacting violently over some insults is not the norm. It would be just pointless and rude, not courageous. And in the case of international relations, well governments can't take decisions on a whim, so an emotional overreaction is even less likely. Obama can call Ahmadinejad insensitive and everything, but not nuke him dead over it. Government structures make sure something like that won't happen. So seriously, while I think Ahmadinejad calculated his move and made it for a reason, I don't think "daring" to do it is specially praise worthy.

Kind of like that Chinese dude standing up to the tank. No. It is absolutely nothing like the Chinese dude standing up to the tank. He was trying to prevent innocent people from being killed, he was standing up for freedom, and he had something to lose in a big bad way. I'm-a-dinner-jacket has nothing to lose by saying this and he's saying it because he wants to be contrary to the USA. There is no bravery in it. There is no heroism. And the fact that you see some of that in his statement says a lot about you.

Yeah, I suppose slinging a comment like his at a world leader who out of dignity and sense won't do anything more than ask you to leave or walk out is just like a man standing up to a tank....with less balls and no spine anyways. He's hiding behind politics to throw insults and take shots at others, and you brandish this like he's a hero? Seriously, if you're not being a poe or trolling, you really need a slap upside the head with a lead pipe

AA, are you aware that in the real world, stronger people won't normally kick your ass if you piss them off? Average adults have more self-control than that. Generally, it takes more strength not to react violently than it does to freak out and do something stupid. "Might makes right" is an incredibly short-sighted policy, and it reeks of poorly-hidden cowardice.

Well the tank guy didn't have a nation state to hide behind while he was talking trash, he was standing silently while the full force of a nation state was bearing down on him. Wonder if AA can spot the difference?
