Does random capitalization of words serve some sort of purpose within AOL chatrooms? And, is it really random or is there some kind of secret code behind it?

You're off the hook, but only because you seem to be an Azumanga Daioh fan.

Dude, Dick Cheney could be an ADO fan, and most of us would probably let him off the hook.

Adding "under God" wasn't the first change. The original pledge began "I pledge allegiance to my flag..." Though the flag of the USA was implied, it wasn't specified till later.
There was some brouhaha some righty started after seeing an Our Gang film made in the late '30s wherein the kids recite the "one nation indivisible" pledge - his rant was on the order of "how dare they cut God out of the film!" (facepalm)

Regarding "In God We Trust", I have an indian-head ("buffalo") nickel minted in 1920 that lacks the apparently-sacred motto.

Joe eats shoots and leaves.
Also, leaves sentences open for creative punctuation!

Oh jeez... I get emails like those all the time from a family friends 13 year old daughter. While sometimes she sends me other stuff that's great for giggles, when I open up something and it tells me about all this "evidence" for the existence of God and how we need to turn to him, I just hit the delete button and move on.
