My brother and a very good friend of mine send these very same and similar emails to me all the time. I usually delete them as soon as I see them since I've already received and read them several times before.
My only regret is that I can't hit the delete button hard enough to erase it from their computers.

Implying Americans aren't beyond normal humans.

As someone from the UK, i have never got the whole pledge thing. Just seems odd to me. it's a form of nationalism. i suppose to someone from outside the country it would look very odd, but if you are patriotically inclined, it's a sign of respect for one's country. there's always a lot of fun controversy surrounding the pledge of allegiance, the use of the word 'under god,' the legal issues with having it done in schools, etc. i'm sure the UK has its own customs for national pride which other countries would find odd if they were to spend time there.

I stopped saying the pledge in high school. At first I would simply stand silently when we were asked to say it, but eventually I remained seated through the entire thing. The teacher was too nice to pester me about it, really. Why should I mindlessly recite such a thing? I had to lead my ROTC class in it twice. So... I had to say it.

Does anybody know where chain e-mails come from? There's 1 guy who's responsible for like 75% of the world's spam, so maybe him.

Chain e-mails are formed by the internet itself, as a way to vent stupidity clogs in the tubes.
Now forward that to 10 people or the internet will be very angry and eat your dog or something.
