Ignoring them has the benefit of denying them lawsuit money.
They're twisted fucks, but they can legally do this shit and it's covered under freedom of speech.

I thought we had pretty much arrived at the conclusion here that Phelps' WBC is really just a lawsuit mill scam operation. Piss people off by doing the most offensive things possible while staying within the law, and when they react, sue them for "infringing your rights."
The man is irrelevant. He is just running a money-making scheme. True, he should probably be arrested for child abuse, but otherwise he should just be utterly ignored.

But if I ignore him, how can I know when he's died and go piss on the grave?
Disclaimer: This poster does not seriously advocate graveyard urination as a form of expressing opinions about dead people.
But I won't judge you if you choose to do so

Have any close realitives attacked these protesters and claimed that they were emotionally distraught before the civil court? People have gotten away with more under those circumstances.

I'm reading the Wiki article, and the groups he targets really have no correlation at all. For instance, i fail to see in what possible world that Bill O'Rielly, Stephen Colbert, Mr. Rogers and all Muslims and Sweeds would form together to fight God.

I understand that Phelps is possibly insane, but how do the people who follow his church justify the jump from slashed tyres to 'all Oklahomo children should die'? Does this church have any members beside his brain washed family?

Oklahomo is a rather unfortunate typo there.

Oklahomo is a rather unfortunate typo there. Obviously, all of Oklahoma became gay upon the slashing of their tires. Re-branding was in order.

Weird, one day I think how much the Phelps's would like Sharia law, Oklahoma bans judges from being influenced by shariah law (and humanitarian international law by proxy stealth sneaking it through in the same bill) and they picket dead kids in Oklahoma. Are they trying to mine new needle points to get more revenues via being assaulted, or are they really that dumb?

I'm ambivalent about the slashing of their tyres but I really liked the response of the rest of the town when it happened by refusing to trade with them. Rather than assault them I think it would be wonderful if everyone essential refused to have any form of congress with them: "Oh, Fred you want to buy some milk? Sorry I don't want to sell it to you."
Basically a form of domestic embargo.

The biggest sign your an ass: you are unable to get your basic means, because people would rather starve you out than not.

The WBC is only hoping to incite people into attacking them so they can sue and get more money. Exactly. Never for a minute have I believed that Fred Phelps et al actually believe in what they're preaching. Offending people enough to beget violence on their church so they can sue for money has always been WBC's primary cause. I actually think the reason they go around picketing military funeral shouting 'God hates America' is to prevent the right from warming up to them for their anti-gay antics. Which just makes them all the more repulsive.
