whistle blowing is a *lot* harder to do in practice than it is in theory. Especially depending on what part of the country you're working in. Especially with this damn recession putting so much pressure on the whistle industry. Sorry, I don't have anything productive to add. The OP does seem to be pretty much answered.

Okay, I understand that's annoying, but haven't we *all* had those times when we've put time, effort, and a lot of swearing into something, it isn't turning out right, and just gone, "Ah, fuck it" -- seriously, that's about what it boils down to. While the blatant hypocrisy is amusing, I understand all too well that sometimes, you just *have* to say "fuck it" and drop the project. I don't when i have a lot of people relying on me for something. If I can't make it work, i ask for help. Well, I'm kind of with WMD Kitty on this one. Nobody does the exact right thing to do 100% of the time. And frankly, I'm grateful that Yahweh put this site together, even if she did walk away from it and just let it drop. If she hadn't done it in the first place, we wouldn't be here to bitch about it now.

BUT... it wasn't a matter of finding someone to take over the site when she wanted to go 'fuck it'. It was simply a matter of giving Distind the passwords, so far as I've worked out. That is to say, I understand the need to go 'fuck it' at times. But when there is someone right there willing to take over, and all you have to do is give a little information... well, my patience and goodwill gets eaten up fast when someone can't even do that. Maybe it's just me...

Hey Rookie? How come you left your job rather than blowing the whistle and hopefully keeping it? And what were they trying to do? Good on you, anyway. It must have been a hard thing to decide, and you showed real moral courage, at least IMO. I wrote all my employees glowing letters of reference for future employers (and immigration officials) and went on my way. What they were asking me to do was order drivers to cheat on their logbooks. It's very common practice, very much like speeding. But you can't leave a paper trail. There was much more to it than that and I'd gladly go into more detail in another thread. The short answer to your question is I didn't want my guys getting screwed. @dv. Thanks hon. But I really am doing much better at my current job. Sure, not financially, but everything else did pick up considerably. I'm a lot better at being a person now.

Oh, I'm not trying to bitch about anyone, just saying and trying to point out an option to be taken. i drop projects all the time when they become too clusterfucked when I'm the one I do it for. If i have others though that are relying on me, I try to get some help and don't pull the plug unless it's just way beyond fucked

When I took over the labeller spot this week at work, they told me if the product going past failed any of the hourly testing, to 'smudge' the paperwork to keep the lab and managers from poking around the line. the one time I had jars fail the lid safety test (how tight the lids are) I was dressed down for calling a team leader to the station to end up shutting the line down to fix the problem
