It occurs to me that a society that produces the likes of Bachmann, Coulter and Palin, and allows their fascisitic views such political prominence, is a society that is all but ready to set out on the road to a loss of democratic freedoms.
I note, also, that they are women. Why do I think of the opening scene of Macbeth?

3.) Coulter stands up for the killings at Kent State
“On May 4, National Guard officers were trying to disperse thousands of violent protesters in the middle of the campus. According to the recent reporting of James Rosen, the guardsman were fired upon first, leading twenty-nine guardsman to shoot back at the protesters, killing four students in thirteen seconds,” Coulter writes.
“If Louis XVI had been that decisive, 600,000 Frenchmen might not have had to die. As his grandfather, Louis XIV, had said: When war is necessary, it is a ‘grave error to think that one can reach the same aims by weaker means.’ Though decried throughout the land – and in a Neil Young song! – the shooting at Kent State soon put an end to the student riots.”
This fits nicely with a major theme of Coulter’s book, which is encapsulated in its very last words.
“This nation’s heroes knew what Louis XVI did not: A mob cannot be calmly reasoned with: it can only be smashed,” Coulter writes. “When faced with a mob, civilized society’s motto should be: Overreact!”
So the British Army was right to shoot them civilians in Boston at the start of the Revolution?

scotsgitAh yes. By the pricking of my thumbs, on a blasted heath, the Three Weird Sisters come: "When shall we three meet again...etc." Except that in the Scottish Play they were probably more tolerable that the modern ones. Enjoyed the clip!

Not really. Ihave a vague recollection of something about an actor playing the role of the Scottish King being really killed by a real weapon when a stage prop should have been used.
Incidentally in Gaelic (Irish & Scottish) Mac Betha (Macbeth) means 'son of life'.
Anyway, none of this seems to have bothered Rowan Atkinson.
And we are way off topic, except that I would love to see AC playing Lady Mac. I think she would be perfect in the role.

The bad luck bit comes from the 18th century when there were lots of theatres in London and if one of them wanted to boost attendance, they used the Scottish actors in their troupe in Macbeth, hence it was bad luck for other theatres that didn't have any Scottish actors as the public preferred the authenticity of a genuine Scottish accent.

Ann is the silver-tongued master of her craft. It is safe to say that she is quite a bit sharper than many a liberal. I wouldn't go for "sharp." More like, "pretty and flame-baiting." She's like Sarah Palin - she rallies the crazies, she's a pretty face for the cameras, and she draws fire away from the less-crazy looking Republicans by flailing wildly. I wouldn't go so far to call Anne Coulter pretty...She has horse face.

Ann Coulter - I'd hit it. (Although IT is the operative word) Following coitus Ann Coulter devours the head of her mate. Be careful.

Considering the intelligence of the typical Ann Coulter fan, I'd have to say it wouldn't exactly be a feast for her, Honky.
