Shane, am running into a brick wall here, your side of the pond seems to have lots of Civil War and Rev War groups, but little prior to that.
Have you ever considered starting your own group?

Thats what everyone else does at least 2 or 3 times in their re-enactment lives.

We do have ren faires that happen in like... the spring. There's one a few hours from where I live. www.garenfest.com/ is one of them. I could start my own group but I don't know where to start, how to get people plus I'm not a leader. I'm a sergeant. Capable of leading small groups of maybe up to 10 but more than that and I freeze up.

Capable of leading small groups of maybe up to 10 but more than that and I freeze up. 10 isn't a bad number for a group, my group started with about 10 two years ago and we're now about 20+ strong. As a group gets larger, you'll find more people who will come forward to help. I can give you a lot of help kit-wise, such as what to wear/not to wear, as well as pointing you in the direction of traders who won't charge you a small fortune. I can also give you an idea about what periods to do.
