What the hell is a "Dorf" planet? I was under the impression that it was spelled "Dwarf."
Other than that, this is a cool discovery. 8 - 21 miles wide? I can walk that far in one day.

I think I missed the memo of Pluto's other 2 moons.

Everybody else gettin' more moons, WHERE'S ALL OUR MOONS?!
Yes, I know that Venus and Mercury don't have moons, but they're lame anyway.

Charon, Nix, and Hydra. I'm not counting this new one until it's determined whether it's a Dorf moon or not.

I knew of Charon, but didn't realise Pluto also had Nix and Hydra as other moons. P4 is seeming to be pretty small, and while it's definitely a satellite not all satellites are moons (otherwise Saturn would have millions of "moons"). It'll be interesting to see if this pushes them to more properly define what makes something a moon versus other types of satellite.
Pluto, forever pushing the boundaries of labels.

I looked up Pluto a few months ago because something had sparked my interest in the whole "Dorf planet" thing again. I noticed the two other moons listed. I'm not sure if it's common knowledge--I wouldn't know about it except by chance. Astronomy, though it's not exactly "my thing" still excites me because of new frontiers, even in our own (astronomically speaking) back yard.

8 to 21 miles would make it still larger than the Martian terror twins. No need to redefine labels, at least not because of this.

They found p4 because they were looking to see if Pluto had a ring. Or if he was still just dating.

A mini-moon is pulling your pants only half way down.
