They only believe in using technology afforded to them in the Old Readme File. I'll have you know that I've given up the Amish. Ironbite-now I'm Catholic.

I know he's not alone in his opinions, it's just... he's supposed to be fighting for our rights. It's like... I know this isn't a perfect example, but imagine an African-American activist who's fighting against racism. But then he goes out and says that Obama and other mixed-race people aren't actually black, and insinuates that they're not good for the cause and are essentially traitors who aren't totally loyal to the racial equality cause. And then he uses some anti-Asian slurs. That kind of behavior is never good, but in someone who claims to be fighting for those rights... gaaaaaaah. Sounds a lot like the problems we've had in the UK with Stonewall: It took a long time and lot of anger before they even acknowledged that bisexuals exist, let alone campaign for them. When I was an LGB officer at University, I had to keep sending back promotional literature from Stonewall because it wouldn't say anything about bisexuals. Sad and depressing but true.

I found one thing that keeps coming up:
The people who criticize Bi-sexuals complain that they sometimes get into relationship with a member of opposite sex and raise a family.
Why is this a problem? Bisexual can be attracted to a member of either gender so why would it be wrong to fall in love with a member of opposite gender? Even Dan Savage said in that video that they "leave the LGBT community" if their chosen partner is opposite sex. That doesn't mean that their orientation changes, they still could be attracted to a person of their gender, they just are already in a relationship with another person.
It's like "If you aren't having sex with dudes and babes at the same time you are not bisexual" or something.

I hate when people don't consider bisexual people in a "hetero" relationship to be LGBT. Just because they're involved with someone, doesn't mean they're not queer.
And for something completely irrelevant: I think Dan is cute. . .

It's like "If you aren't having sex with dudes and babes at the same time you are not bisexual" or something. I used to get the whole "You're not bisexual if you haven't slept with both." Which makes no sense. A heterosexual who hasn't screwed a member of the opposite sex isn't "not heterosexual," they're just "virgins." But the same standard was and is not generally held for homosexuals or bisexuals. You have to "prove it" if you are not the "norm." Ironbite-at any rate...have you found Primus? I will not follow any being that insists I was made wrong. Lousy Primes and their bigotries....

Savage is kind of an asshole, but in this case he's like the lesser of two evils.

Let's see, some biphobia: .... GRR. ARGH. Ok that's not really biphobic. It's the truth. A lot of people do identify as Bi as defense mechanism. I did. I know many others that did as well. And so that clouds the issue of who is and isn't Bi since so many that say they are clearly are not. FI Savage had said that Bisexuality didn't exist that would be bi-phobic. But he flat didn't say that or even imply it. Not here. He pointed out an issue that happens to be real and can be confused for biphobia. Maybe Dan Savage is Biphobic. But this video doesn't really make that case. It's not the bit about people identifying as bi as a defense mechanism. Yes, that is true. But it's unfair to the people, especially young people, to be told that they aren't really what they ID as (especially since it's reminiscent of "you're not gay, you just haven't found the right woman/man"). And for someone who campaigns to help young people who are just discovering their queer identity, he's stepping on them quite a lot with that bit. And the bit about how they're not as devoted to the cause as gays and lesbians because they have straight relationships. I'm in a straight relationship and I am damn well devoted to the cause. And the afore-mentioned transphobia, and some other instances of biphobia and sexism that I have found on a quick Googling excursion.
