The only Jack I know of, and like, is Mr. Daniel. (Rat smiles happily as he sees not only Jodie's response, but the fact that she remembered the apostrophe.)Marry me? Heh, sorry. Mr. Daniel already has my heart. And soon my liver.

Um, the straw poll means exactly two things. Jack and shit. Pawlenty has just pulled out. [Then rolled over and smoked a cigarette] Napoleon if straw polls mean jack shit, then how come it caused Pawlenty to admit defeat? Wouldn't that just cause him to want to campaign harder instead? Check to see how many times the Ames straw poll was an accurate prediction then we can talk.

This isn't in responce to the poll, more likely a very weak candidate thinking this means anything. Reports are that Pawlenty wasn't do to well with financing and so took this as an indication to bow out. Ironbite-nothing more.

Just so you guys know, Texas Governor Perry got more straw votes then Romney. Ironbite-and he wasn't even on the ballot. But what about Parry?

The folks at RR all seem to have boners for Bachman...
That's how I knew I hated her right off the bat.

To anyone with even a quarter of a brain, the Iowa Straw Poll is meaningless. Why? It's a simple equation: (VOTING COSTS $30) + (CANDIDATES MAY BUY & GIVE AWAY PRE-MARKED VOTING TICKETS) + (CANDIDATES MAY INCLUDE OTHER INCENTIVES IN THE DEAL) Michelle Bachmann won the Straw Poll. Results: Bachmann 4823 Paul 4671 Pawlenty 2293 Santorum 1657 Cain 1456 Perry 718 Romney 567 Gingrich 385 Huntsman 69 McCotter 35 Wow. Michelle got 4823! That's a lot, right? But what that number does NOT reveal is that Michelle GAVE AWAY ALMOST 6000 PRE-MARKED VOTING TICKETS. Which means that not even everyone who took one of her tickets bothered to cast it. Why would they take it if they weren't going to cast it? Because Bachmann had bundled the voting tickets with a ticket to a Randy Travis concert.Bachmann didn't win the Iowa Staw Poll. Randy Travis did. And that's why it is utterly meaningless.

Any poll where Ron Paul does that good is clearly bogus anyway.

The danger is that she creates the illusion that she is the one and that people who just want to be told what to think and do believe the narrative. If she can build momentum she can get votes simply because if is popular she must be good, kind of like Paris Hilton or any other pop tart.
If it didn't work so frequently it wouldn't be anything to worry about.

You can argue that these are minor, comical mistakes, but does Bachmann ever do a factcheck? She said John Wayne when it was actually John Wayne Gacy. Happy Birthday to Elvis on the anniversary of his DEATH, August 16?
The batshit never falls far from the bat's asshole!
