Yeah, they're a bitch to scale, too. Tried everything I could to use a wider setup like for, say a bridge, but it refused to work.

That wiki also has more advanced tutorials if that's not enough, as well as the standard collection of crafting recipes and the like. Also, watch this review of it, purely for shits and giggles.

Also the wiki is quite helpful. Especially if you end up messing about with redstone circuits, it has a bunch of schematics for the standard logic gates and simple contraptions

I suppose you can never have enough links to the Minecraft wiki.

I suppose you can never have enough links to the Minecraft wiki. Exactly. The Minecraft Wiki is more or less the Bible. If you have a question about anything read the Wiki and if anyone disagrees call them a sinner and damn them to hell.

Is it just me, or does Notch seem to be rather inspired by Terraria, judging by the fact that the new updates seem to be moving away from sandbox building and more towards adventuring (NPC villages, strongholds, alchemy, abandoned mines, etc). Not to mention the giant mushroom biomes.

Well, I know for a fact that Notch was considering villages since before Terraria was ever announced. As for the giant mushrooms, yeah that felt a little Terraria-esque.

I like that there's enough stuff to make survival and creative modes different.

Is there any way to get a glimpse of a world map when you play?
