We've broken that one as well! I don't even know what to believe anymore!

I was reading this earlier and I am not convinced relativity is wrong. More likely it was a false result. Neutrinos are exceedingly difficult to detect. They’re teeny-tiny, like electrons, but have no charge and rarely interact with ordinary matter. There are scads of neutrinos streaming through your body right now and you’re none the worse for it.
Given how famously difficult neutrinos are to detect, it seems more likely that the error is not in the Theory of Relativity — the body of knowledge underlying all of macro space-time — but on the method used to measure the transit time of the ghostly particles.

I have to admit, I want the finding to be true, so that we can hopefully one day create faster than light communication and travel. I also have to admit I doubt the accuracy of the readings, simply because this flies in the face of what else we've observed and the difficulty of observing and accurate timing in the test.

The physics community is highly skeptical at the moment, or at least the people I talk to. I am not a particle physicist so I cannot comment on the experiment. I will leave it for others to look for the systematics that I highly expect to be the culprit for the surprising result. Now the one thing that I can't help mentioning (and it may be explainable...) is the use of technology (GPS) that is explicitly dependent on the assumptions and results of special relativity to obtain a result that casts a doubt on it Imagine a 1 meter stick is used to measure something during an experiment that shows in the end that the meter stick is not 1 meter long. I find this disturbing.

"Most relatives are annoying as hell."
What's wrong about that?
