Moebius strips are easy to make. It's a good trick to teach a young kid to blow his classmates' minds.

kristine, I'm very impressed by your mind-twisting skills. You are way beyond an ordinary pretzel, you have reached the Moebius strip: I am honored to be Escher- esc (his more bizzare stuff is some of my favorites.) it's more disturbing when it looks more realistic Although I think a lot of the Fundie arguments are more like this one...

I was trying to show a former roommate who kept dropping or failing out of college math classes how math could be fun. She was smart, just mostly afraid of math. I made a little paper mobius strip and cut it in half. And she screamed "WITCH WITCH!" and ran out of the room. (Yes, she was joking.)

Well we all know, the ability to add three digit numbers is the sign of a witch. So is knowing the quadratic formula.
meh, I'm tired........ off to bed

This is the same drawing, and I agree with kristine, it reminds me very much of fundie arguments:

In any case, what do Christian achieve by converting nonbelievers? Is there punishment if they don't actively try to "save" people? In Islam, converting a nonbeliever means automatic ascension to heaven after death (or so I heard), so is it similar for evangelicals? *twists into paradigm pretzel*In Christianity the believer 'gains' nothing but the satisfaction of introducing someone to the truth. it would be similar if you were teach a person how to avoid disease or introduce them to your favorite hobby. It is someone new to share it with and you have done a good thing - conversely anyone who does not believe and does not have that safety net of moral comfort and sense of community behind them is missing out on something the believer KNOWs is there to help. - it would be as if a starving person where picky about what kind of food they were being given. No, converting non-beievers is not a get into heaven free card but it proves to yourself and the people around you that you have strength in your beliefs

Listen, my neighbors are RRs and they talk about a whole load of bullshit. I just keep my mouth shut because, trust me, if I questioned their beliefs they'd automatically think I was a satanist, no lie. That's what they think of their uncle just because he doesn't want to talk about God with them. And they call atheists hypocrites...

Kpunicorn, we have a rule about necrothreading. If a thread has gone 30 days or more since the last post, you're not supposed to post in it. I'm letting you go on this one since you're new, but don't do it again, ok? You'll be getting this in a PM as well in case you don't check back here.

Can I take this moment to ask why it's banned to post in an old thread? I see no problem with it. New people can add their views, and maybe some will have changed their opinion.

Well, it looks like this thread is back from the dead anyway. Or something.

If it is, then I would have one question to add, if nobody did it before me : "Why do you think the Bible any truer than any of the other holy books in the word?"

While we're all necro-ing, my question would be, naturally; "have you, or have you not, heard about the bird?".
