Why do they hate clotheslines, tv antennae, and PVC piping? I doubt some of these are anything more than urban legends. There's a lot of sites out there with supposed dumb laws that don't actually exist. And many of them that exist have been repealed. The clothes line thing is true-used to live in Columbia, the TV antenna thing is quite common, we have one extremely rich zip code here with all sorts of fucked up laws, 2 have gone to the SCOTUS, the pvc thing I don't get either

In Washington (my state), it is mandatory for a motorist with criminal intentions to stop at the city limits and telephone the chief of police as he is entering the town.
It is also illegal to paint polka dots on the American flag.
When two trains come to a crossing, neither shall go until the other has passed.
In Seattle, you may not carry a concealed weapon that is over six feet in length.
You need a license to sell condoms.
It is illegal to sell comic books that might encourage "depraved or immoral acts" to minors.
Anyone under the age of 18 must have parental permission before throwing a tear gas canister.
Also, lollipops are banned.
However, since Washington (and Oregon) are very liberal states, none of these laws are enforced.

As another poster pointed out, most of these laws are phony and don't actually exist. If it is indeed illegal to paint polka dots on the American flag (in reality there is probably a law against desecrating the American flag, not a law specifically forbidding only polka dots), this law is unconstitutional and couldn't be enforced anyway (Texas v. Johnson, 491 U.S. 397).

It IS illegal to be gay in some county in Tennessee, and the law was passed within the last decade. Its the same county where the Scopes trial happened. Never even attempted to enforce it because they know what would happen

I IL, it is apparently illegal to be governor without being a crook But if you aren't a crook and you get elected you're breaking the law, but that means you're no longer in violation of the law which means you are no longer a crook which means... Ah the joy of paradox.
