My understanding is the wait is mainly for the fact you received an injection, and not for the vaccine itself. I, for one, used to have a severe phobia of needles, and once fainted a few minutes after having blood taken. It was a good thing I was sitting down for that, rather than collapsing in the parking lot, or worse, while driving (I had no idea I was going to faint until it actually happened).

So dangerous that this thread gave me face cancer.
"Great Britain's two most senior military officers added to the uneasiness. [...] Lord Wolseley, Adjutant General, thought that it might be possible for an enemy to invade without waiters and pastrycooks." -Robert K. Massie, Dreadnought

So dangerous that it turned me into a newt.
I got better.
If you see me typing in "quotes", that's because I'm remembering what it was like to be a fundie and then typing as if I was one :3 "Please. Understand that I only want to share God's love with you. I mean you no harm, really. You need to stop sinning."

As a teenager who will probably (hopefully) be sexually active eventually, I want to get the HPV vaccine. But my parents think that the HPV vaccine is a fucking conspiracy by pharmaceutical companies and the government. My mom has already stated that if I get the HPV vaccine myself as an adult, she will be "extremely disappointed" in me. Which is screwed up, because the second I turn 18 I'm not even under her jurisdiction anymore. If I want an HPV vaccine, I will get a goddamn HPV vaccine.
