my own belief system says that - that's why I can't stand the "Life isn't fair" argument some professors/people in power like to use when they do something dickish to you.
Just because "life isn't fair" doesn't give you a fucking excuse to do something you KNOW is wrong or messed up. That's not some catch-all responsibility clenser. Some of them are trying to teach that "take responsbility" thing but it seems like they take it so far they shrug their own responsibility, that make sense? "Oh but it was YOUR fault so you need to take the blame for it" "Not really, it was the traffic's fault I was 20 minutes late to class, it was some idiot who got into an accident" "Well you shoulda left earlier" "I left an hour early, it didn't make a difference" "Too bad"
I always try to shoulder my own blame but I get really fucking sick of doing that and then STILL being told I'm not taking responsibility enough.

Not bad, but Carlin's review of the 10C was better.

As the resident Socialist I am compelled to point out that Penn Jillette is still an Anarcho-Capitalist asshole. That has nothing to do with his commandment things, but I think it bears repeating while we're on the topic.
Carry on.

@itachi: God, I hate that shit so much. Basically, all they're doing is hurling their OWN excuses at you over more & more minute "mistakes" until eventually you can't refute them any more. How is anyone supposed to argue with "You should have thought about every contingency in advance, no matter how ridiculous or improbable."
