I am about as strongly capitalist as it is humanly possible to be, but this crosses the goddamn line. It's not even funny. Fuck these people. It would be like abortion doctors dressing up as bloody fetuses or something. Not cool. Even YOU got pissed at this. That's saying something. |

Aboveathletics, you've been told to stop trolling several times, including here just 37 hours ago. You've been doing this all over the boards lately too, and have been given Official Warnings™ over it in the past. You're even now admitting to deliberate trolling. I was thinking of just giving you a warning for this, but taking your actions across the entirety of the forum into consideration I find that it is a systemic problem with multiple infractions. I hate having to do it, but take your trolling and disruptive behaviour elsewhere for the next year.

I honestly don't see how it's that different than doctors dressing up as bloody fetuses, either. Abortions aren't necessarily bad, but mocking it by dressing up as bloody fetuses would be very evil. Even if I think abortion should be legal, I find it disturbing that people treat fetuses with such a lack of respect. I've believe they're humans at a different stage of human life. Doesn't give them the right to life, but good god, why must people act like they're found in litter boxes?
Also, I'm not a mod so it's none of my business who is banned/suspended whatever, but I don't think Aboveathletics really acted worse than anyone else here. People here, and I'm not just talking mods, like to play favorites.

Allow me to explain:
For AA's analogy to make sense, you have to accept that abortion doctors are doing something reprehensible to another person. Would it be in bad taste for a doctor to dress as a successful heart surgery? No, of course not, the issue here is not that people are dressing as something related to their job. How on Earth would that, alone, be offensive? You might say that AA's broken analogy would still be in bad taste, but most people would cite that it's insensitive to the patients, not that they should feel guilty for the poor fetus.
Okay, so you don't like the fact that fetuses are treated with "disrespect," but a great many people seem to borderline worship them, & the only proper response is to show that they aren't some kind of magic bundle of pure goodness. And yes, that includes through satire.

Depends on how you define "apropriate," but I am of the understanding that clockworkgirl is referring primarily to posts on this board,* & so saw no need to clarify apropriate times & places. *=Such as all of those times I've called fetuses "skinless tadpole monsters." |
