I've been wanting to make my own metal/punk patch jacket for a while now. I decided I really want to start the project asap when I found a couple of band patches I forgot I had lying around.
So I plan to use my faux leather jacket for the project and I already have some ideas for patch placment. The two round band patches I already have are going to go on the top of each sleeve, while two round patches I'm going to get are going to go on each of the chest pockets. I'm also going to get a small rectangular patch for above the right chest pocket, and a large one for on the bottom back of the jacket. I also want to maybe buy some pyramid studs to stud along the tops of the shoulders.
Now, this is really going to be my first big sewing project that I've done by myself and I was wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions, especially since it's going to be on (faux) leather.
Also, I was wondering if, since this is really my first big sewing project, if I would be better off doing it on a denim jacket instead?
