If they are still there after you've picked up the tract tip are waitresses then legally allowed to hurl leftover food at them.
I bet whoever leaves those tips never goes back to that restaurant.

I bet whoever leaves those tips never goes back to that restaurant. Depends on if they are delusional enough to think they will return to a joyous greeting from a new brother or sister in Christ, thankful for being shown the light and the error of his or her sinful ways. Gah! I gagged just writing that.

Speaking as a Christian man both of whose parents were in the food service business for years, this is the most asshole thing to do. I guarantee, this will never ever make the unfortunate recipient better disposed to your religious beliefs. It will do the opposite. It is also a real dick move. Seriously, don't be a dick guys.

(Related: Neither is it acceptable to leave an extremely lousy tip--or NO tip at all--but write your phone number on a napkin for the waitress. What about leaving your phone number on the tip? My fiancee and I were at dinner a few months ago when our server (who we had been chatting with) told us he had to tell someone what had just happened. Him: Did you see the two women sitting at that table there? Me: Yes.... Him: They left this with the tip. It was a $1 with a phone number written on it, with the word "call me." (They left more than a $1 tip, it was just that the $1 had the phone number.)

Thing is, unless the server saw them writing the number on the tip, it is possible they themselves had received the dollar bill with the phone number already on it as change. They might not have even noticed the phone number themselves. There is no telling whose number that is.

Regardless how I feel about leaving your number for your waiter (for the record, I think it's tacky)--what colour stupid do you have to be to write your telephone number on paper currency which will most assuredly spend AT LEAST the next six months being passed from person to person? As N De Plume said, it could have been left there by someone else--the point being that a great deal more people are going to be in possession of that number than the person you had initially intended it for.

The waiter said the same thing. We all agreed it was creepy. We don't know for sure that one of the women left her number. The waiter did say they had been flirting with him, and the number was a local area code.

More like they'll return to a joyous wad of lung butter in their burger* if the server is inclined to do so. Never fuck with the person who handles the food.
*I'm against that practice, personally, but I can certainly understand what would drive someone else to do it. Customers can really suck.

5 bucks says the people who left the troll tip are against raising the minimum wage level. Also, isn't charity supposed to be Christian?

(They left more than a $1 tip, it was just that the $1 had the phone number.) If that happened to me, I think I'd be flattered. And even if you're not interested, at least they left you a decent tip. Beginning to think this is an age gap thing, but compliments from strangers are always nice, I think. It would be different if they left no tip and their phone number, I guess. FYI, in Australia, its not usual to tip at all, I guess because our service industry staff are better paid than yours seem to be. As a result, we generally don't understand tipping, so this "tract as tip" thing probably wouldn't be considered as insulting, just fundie-weird. But I understand how, to people who live off their tips, this is a real kick in the teeth. Regardless how I feel about leaving your number for your waiter (for the record, I think it's tacky)--what colour stupid do you have to be to write your telephone number on paper currency which will most assuredly spend AT LEAST the next six months being passed from person to person? If he was flirting with them, doesn't it sort of suggest merely that he was doing so effectively? 5 bucks says the people who left the troll tip are against raising the minimum wage level. Also, isn't charity supposed to be Christian? QFT x2!
