I avoid those tinsel frost thingys they make everything look cheap to me. I find tinsel tacky too, although I also have to avoid using it because one of my cats seems keen on eating anything that can shred his insides and kill him.

Had a bit of a problem when it ate some plastic Easter basket “grass.” Pulled through all right after treatement, though.

Those fake trees can last a really long time if you take good care of them. My parents had one for almost 20 years.

It's like they enjoy the sensation then leave it when they're done

I hang my trees upside down. That sounds blasphemous without actually violating a religious law. If one actually reads the bible then they know that Christmas trees themselves are blasphemous. It just got adopted when the christian church invaded the more northern countries that practised Yule, just like they've done with bunches of other holidays, rituals, and other practices and beliefs.
