Is how many of the people quoted here end up making a better arguement against their position than for it. For example, many of the quotes defending beating your kids make liberals out to be "sissies" who are too "soft". They try to make things like equal rights and gay marriage out to be a bad thing and always want to go back to how it was in the "good ol days". They end up spewing so much hatred and venom that no matter what insane claims they make about their opponents, it's hard not to instantly want to thake their opponents side, realizing they can't possibly be as batshit insane as the raving bible thumping lunitic.
In a way, reading some of the shit fundies believe has made me a better person. I am so repulsed by some of them that I will go out of my way not to be like them. It's like a quote I heard one time "Nobody is useless, you can always set a bad example". It definately applies to fundies.

I find it extremely hard to find anything to love about misogynistic, homophobic, unscientific people that actively seek to force their beliefs on you with laws and politics. But, if I didn't care about the people they abuse and disrespect and if I didn't live on the same planet with them and they didn't threaten everyone else with extinction because of their warmongering I would find their level of ignorance extremely amusing.

I've read so many quotes that I have a very thick skin when it comes to insults from people who are IRL fundies.
It's like getting a vaccine against obnoxiousness.

I've read so many horrible quotes I once had to stop reading the mainpaige for a couple of months.

I find that I've actually grown smarter through fundies. Not because I believe their arguments, but because it inspired me to find information used to debunk those claims.
I have to say that educationally, FSTDT is probably the greatest thing that has ever happened to me.

I'm normally pretty lazy, but seeing stupidity in action made me want to learn more about the world so I wouldn't be ignorant like that. I got my best grades in my social science classes when I was watching religious debates on youtube and on other message boards. Plus when you hear so many piss poor arguements and logical fallacies, it helps identify poor arguements. Many of these quotes would go great in logic textbooks as examples of fallacies and how NOT to win an arguement.

What helps is that the Fundies take issues that the school system talks very little about. Evolution, gay rights, abortion, etc.
What I love about Fundies is the sick high I get from reading their insane drivel.

I have to say that educationally, FSTDT is probably the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. Oh hell yes, I came here after Propeller.com/Netscape Forums went belly up so I could get my debate news/keep up with what's going on in the world. This helped push me to research even more, and managed to show me arguments I hadn't observed yet. The other reason I like coming here, I need to get my "rage fix" - I get so pissed off I can work myself into rare form, and that helps me study and focus on my work.

This website convinced me to listen to my doubts about what my parents and pastors had taught me. I read the Bible a hell of a lot more than before, I paid closer attention to the things my parents said, and I realized how very...not for me it all was.

Odd, I find that when I get too emotionally invested in shit I read on the internet, whatever else I'm doing suffers.

There's a limit of course, that fine line between "OH FUCK YEAH BRYAN FISCHER CAN EAT AN ARSENIC LACED DICK oohhhh what a rush I can do my homework now" and "RAGFAFJDJAAJSPGFPJFPCWPRAAAGE AGAINST ALL THE THINGS!"

I always find it amusing when YECs start up with the, "If evolution is true, why do our bodies have *insert seemingly counter intuitive trait here*!?" crap, completely failing to realize that these kinds of statements are better used as arguments against creationism/"intelligent design".
