I hate to have to be the one to break this to you guys, but... You lose. Hey, I just noticed that it also says "SDA Studios!" ...Yes, I am an asshole, why do you ask?

That's gotta be a cheat. Some kind of console command?

This just in: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has won Game of the Year at the Spike VGAs, beating out Batman: Arkham City, Portal 2, and Legend of Zelda: Skyrim Sword.

You can get damage that high(and more) through potions, equipment, and perks to the maximum extent possible. It all gets displayed as part of the weapon, even if it's mostly boosted by armor skills and potions. In addition, orcs get the racial ability to double damage/halve damage taken. There is a limit, though, it's not possible for potions and enchantments to bootstrap each other to infinity like you could with intelligence potions in Morrowind...

There is a limit, though, it's not possible for potions and enchantments to bootstrap each other to infinity like you could with intelligence potions in Morrowind... Not according to UESP or the skyrim wiki. The 2h axe might be possible, but the 1h sword is impossible. The damage is possible - you need 1h skill at 100 + all 5 points in damage, +48% enchants on jewellery, boots and gauntlets + maximally upgraded smithing at 100, 4 items at +29% smithing and the 130% smithing potion, (the 147% is not really needed) - and if you drink a potion of fortify 1h (without a potion I can get my swords to 550 since my enchants are +47% to 1h). But look at the enchantments! Max damage without using any console commands of an elemental enchant is 45 - that requires enchanting at 100 + all relevant perks (including the elemental damage ones), the 37% enchanting potion (max possible with glitch!, otherwise it's only 32% max) and destruction at 100 with all relevant perks for increasing damage. In addition drinking potion of fortify destruction does not help the enchantments. So damage wise it's possible but enchant wise I am almost sure it's modded. EDIT: So with just a 50% to 1H potion I got my 1H sword to 888 damage. So with better potion of fortigy 1H I am sure you can get over 1k damage on 1H weapon and with dual wielding it's getting insane. But I hate using potions that last 60s... I am perfectly fine with 550 damage on each

What I find funny about this is that weapons can get to exceeding amounts of damage (though maybe not as high as that without hacking) but a mod to boost the power of magic is cheating because magic is balanced because you get to stand in one place casting a 0 magicka spell to stunlock an enemy for 5 minutes instead of running up and poking them with a sharp stick a few times and killing them in 5 seconds. You know. BALANCED!
Why yes, I visited the GameFAQs forums. How'd you know?

I knoooooooow. That's one of the things that's bugged me with TES games after Morrowind. Did everyone suddenly forget how to make and/or use spears, halberds, and crossbows?
