I just hope they don't make it all edgy and dramatic.

Don't judge until you seen it.
ETA: from wikipedia
Another remake from Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller is reported to be in development for NBC. The network has said to have ordered a pilot episode, but it has yet to be confirmed.[8] It has since been confirmed that NBC has picked up a reboot of The Munsters that will be written and executive produced by Fuller as a one-hour drama with "spectacular visuals". It will explore the origins of the Munster family and be darker and edgier, but will still have plenty of humor.[9][10][11]
I guess you can no now. Although it might be better than what the Wayans bros would have come up with.

It shouldn't be too bad as long as the plot and actors are good.

Makes me kind of wonder why people are upset over this, but are cheering for the new Muppet movie.

It won't be any worse than the early 90s reboot, "The Munsters Today," wherein Marilyn was turned into a Kelly Bundy clone. NBC hasn't had the best track record for remakes (cases in point: Knight Rider, Bionic Woman). CBS fared better with Hawaii Five-O, and is planning to revive Bewitched and The Rifleman next season.

Makes me kind of wonder why people are upset over this, but are cheering for the new Muppet movie. Because it's not a remake.

It's a reboot. That's pretty much the same thing, unless the new Munsters is actually going to remake the original episodes.

From the summary on Wikipedia, it sounds more like a reunion special. Between fictional characters. It wouldn't be the first time for something like that, and Zombie Island turned out to be the best Scooby-Doo movie out of all of them.

It shouldn't be too bad as long as the plot and actors are good. All I know is if they make Grandpa Munster sparkle, someone needs to get a wooden stake jabbed into them repeatedly.
